Came back to Ghana three days ago only to experience a really hurtful situation
For the past three years, I’ve always wished to celebrate my birthday in Thailand because it’s my dream country
This year.. I decided to make the conscious effort to save for it so 1st January, I bought two big susu box in addition to the one I have from last year
Whenever a brand pays me, I put in 15/20%
Since January to September.
When I was in SA, so many brands paid me so I put down the percentage and once I landed in Ghana, I withdrew 9500gh to put in the susu box. I got home, unpacked and decided to put the money in the box ( which is always under my bed)
I checked, the two main boxes weren’t there but my old susu box from last year was there. Thought I didn’t have money in it …only to see 1k dollars . But it was so lightweight
Continued to search for my two main susu box; no where to be found. Had to bring out everything in my room, went to my mom’s room; I’m forgetful.. maybe I hid it there which doesn’t make sense. Wasn’t there.. because the box is really big. Three days down the line, the boxes can’t be found and no one in my house knows where it is. Funny enough on my flight, told my sister.. I wouldn’t travel again, I’d put it in my building project instead of spending it on a teo weeks trip. If I opened one box to 1k usd and I was about to put almost 10k in it only to not find it. Imagine how much I’ve been saving for the past 9months. Up till now, I can’t believe anyone would be wicked enough to carry two heavy susu box ; I know one can steal but carrying all the savings? In a day?
I’m guessing the person left that one box because it felt empty but it’s crazy .
I don’t know if anyone can really understand me as much as myself but imagine a 24yr old saving what 40/50k for 9months hoping to do something meaningful only for someone to take it away. I can’t cry, I can’t argue, I can’t fight… I just have to let it go? And move on? My heart is just so heavy that I can’t really do anything … in as much as I have to let it go, it’s really hurting. Who could be this wicked.
