Although the Iroquois culture didn't impact much of ours, I think that we've impacted some of theirs. Well, first of all, we claimed some of their land. We also brought a deadly disease that claimed many lives, scurvy. Luckily, they found a cure.
Well, I don't think that the Iroquois culture changed much of ours, but I guess we could say that we learned a method to cure scurvy after being exposed to extreme weathers.
Surprisingly, I learned quite a lot. Definitely more than my previous trip to the Newfoundland. I learned about the Iroquois environment, more about the lands surrounding theirs, their medicine, and the weather. Oh, and did I mention? We claimed some of the land for France!
My crew and I are so glad to be back. Although I did not find any gold, spices, or a passage to Asia, I hope King Francis I will be pleased to hear about what Chief Donnacona has to say. Isn't this some sort of accomplishment? I doubt it's true, but better something than nothing.
So you know, everything was going great, but then, guess WHAT?! The Chief told me that there was this area, filled with riches, gold, and spices. I asked him to go with me, back home to tell our King, who wanted me to find paradise.
Here's the secret recipe. It was tea made from the leaves of white cedar tree, I believe. Through this, it cured the natives, my crew, and the relationship between us! #yay
Thank the Lord ❤️
The cure for scurvy has been found! The story goes: I was surprised to see the Chief's son doing just fine after a few days of struggling with scurvy. So I pleaded for help and Chief Donnacona agreed to let his son tell me. #relieved
Oh this is just greaatt... we've been blamed by the Iroquois about scurvy. It's already December and 50 natives had died! My crew is also suffering terribly from this disease. We're running out of supplies the cold and scurvy are destroying this trip!
I tried to make it back before the cold froze the ocean. But we only made it up to Stadacona and I think we're going to have to spend the whole winter here. For some reason, the Chief got really angry. I don't think our friendship will last long enough. Also, scurvy :( #Help
I climbed Mount Réal today! The view was great, but unfortunately, winter has arrived in the Newfoundland... It's starting to get realllll cold #freezing
After I've met with the natives living in this area, a feast was arranged. Of course, we traded some gifts. I noticed that they were willing to accept our religion, Christianity. I might as well try to convert some of them.

Our ships finally arrived to Hochelaga! Well, we landed on an island that seemed to match the descriptions given by Chief Donnacona's sons. I found several plants here; corn and tobacco.
Okay, with one of the Chief's son translating, I asked about Hochelaga, but the Chief told me that his sons will not be allowed to guide me unless I left a few men as hostages. The Shamans warned me that there were 'devils', however I continued on without the help of any natives.
