This is my personal take on the just-ended Ghana-UK Investment Summit 2026. Led by my own sister and friend, HE Mrs Sabah Zita Benson Esq.
What a remarkable renaissance of Ghanaian style. The carefully crafted non-traditional exports, the cuisine, powerfully made African print outfits- haute couture- the London high-level investment summit was also a bold move to showcase the best of Ghanaian style and creativity.
A burst of colourful prints and innovation encapsulated in beautiful bold designs of cultural expression.
The experts, the panelists, the business leaders, and of course the politicians who made the headlines wore the best of Ghana to the global stage—Ghana-UK Investment Summit.
From the President’s iconic smocks and traditional African formal wear on the global stage, to the growing embrace of African prints and indigenous fashion by Ghana’s professional and social elite, Ghana continues to assert itself as a beacon of style, identity, and cultural confidence.
Through the deliberate promotion of our heritage at home and abroad, we are demonstrating that culture is not merely tradition; it is diplomacy, influence, and soft power. A cultural revolution is quietly but firmly underway, and the new era of African fashion is capturing global attention, exactly as it should.

President John Dramani Mahama has highlighted signs of growing economic stability, noting that inflation has declined significantly, the currency remains stable, and Ghana’s reserves have strengthened to support resilience against external shocks.
Speaking at the ‘Resetting Ghana’ citizen engagement in Damango, the President highlighted government’s decision to channel 80% of the District Assemblies Common Fund directly to local assemblies to accelerate development at the grassroots.
He noted that the move has significantly improved the timely release of funds, enabling districts to independently undertake projects such as schools, CHPS compounds, and 24-hour markets across the country.
The President further underscored the need for balanced national development, stressing targeted investments in the Savannah Region, including plans for a science and technology university, a 300-bed regional hospital, improved water systems, expanded road networks, and increased electricity access.

President @JDMahama has underscored the need to democratize STEM education, stressing that access must go beyond a few specialised schools to reach every Ghanaian child.
Speaking during a BSTEM demonstration in Sawla, the President stated that government is now focused on decentralising STEM to make it practical, inclusive, and accessible at the basic level.
He highlighted that the way science and mathematics are taught has long discouraged students, contrasting previous theory-based methods with the current hands-on approach where pupils can see, touch, and experiment with real concepts.
President Mahama pointed to practical classroom demonstrations, including experiments to determine acids and bases using litmus tests, as examples of how experiential learning improves understanding.

This morning, alongside the management of Metro Mass Transit Limited (MMTL) and the Ministry of Transport, I commissioned 100 new buses on behalf of His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama. The government intends to revitalise Ghana’s transportation sector by expanding safe and accessible public transport.
This is part of a larger intervention to deploy 300 buses nationwide. The buses have been fully registered, insured, inspected, and prepared for deployment to high-demand areas.
I commended the management and staff of MMTL, led by Managing Director Kale Caesar, as well as the Ministry of Transport and partners, especially MAC Ghana, for their efforts in making this initiative possible.
An efficient transport system is essential to national development. This intervention aims to ease commuter burdens, improve accessibility, and provide more reliable and affordable options while restoring dignity and confidence in the public transport system. I also expressed the hope that, as part of our long-term industrialisation agenda, Ghana would increasingly move towards local participation in the manufacturing and assembly of transport components.
I urged management and staff to ensure proper maintenance and disciplined operation of the buses; public investment must be matched by accountability and quality service delivery. Commuters deserve a transport system that is safe, reliable, and respectful of their needs.
The commissioning of these buses reflects Government’s broader focus on infrastructure improvement and public service delivery.
