Bound for her new home in Long Beach, California, this voyage would be 39 days duration covering some 14,500 nautical miles.

Fourteen Royal Navel helicopters flew in the anchor formation, saluting Great Britain’s most excellent liner. Long live the Queen!

#TITANIC was built from about 2,000 1-inch-thick steel plates and the hull was stapled together with over 3 million rivets.

These came from the 17-ton section of the hull recovered in 1998, and the nut was recovered during an expedition in 1993.
