Remembering with pride IRA hunger striker #kierandoherty from #Andersonstown in Belfast who died 40 years ago today. Picture is of an original poster from 1981 unusually with his name in Irish. He had been elected to the Irish Parliament in June that year.

9th April 1981 Bobby Sands elected as MP we didn't know whether he had won the election - as we were denied radios/newspapers by prison but wardens on the wing had a radio and I can still remember one of them saying "he's in he's got in!" Then we knew Bobby had made history
