@IrishRail Again, if this announcement could have been made prior to the 05:59 Heuston service departing Newbridge, it would actually benefit passengers. Announcing it after the fact helps nobody. This specific communication problem happens so often, totally unnecessary.
@SquidgeMundo@IrishRail This exact scenario you have described happens almost always whenever there are these sort of delays. The smallest amount of communication could avoid this mess.
@IrishRail had to take 19:24 Kishoge-Newbridge as a result. Only 3 carriages; overcrowding is profoundly uncomfortable, even dangerous, yet the GCD-Hazelhatch service that passed through moments earlier had 6 carriages despite traveling a far shorter distance. This is hard to rationalise.
No-brainer here. It broadens the train's appeal for commuters/students between Cork/Limerick, could serve Charleville which has limited frequency (7 daily weekday to Dublin, 5 to Cork). More appealing than driving the dangerously sub-standard N20 road. https://t.co/2TEKgjUY9Q
@Feljin_J@NiallCafferty A direct Cork-Limerick service, without needing to change at Limerick Junction, was recommended as part of the original review. This has not gained any media attention that I can find. Might this be more likely with the completion of double-tracking from LJ to Limerick City?
@Feljin_J Metro West is a criticality for the city and its commuter belt; an out-and-out no-brainer. The decision to shelve it is one of the biggest own-goals we’ve ever inflicted on ourselves.
@IrishRail when will the timetables for Christmas be made available? Currently no timetables are available beyond December 13 and people need to know in advance what train options are available to them to plan their travel during the Christmas period.
