Hi guys.

Before I continue ‘Teach Me, Again’, or any future story, I feel like I need to address something.

I saw a fellow fanfic writer speak about this a few days ago, and after receiving messages myself and now seeing a Reddit comment claiming Forget Me Not and Remember Me Still are AI generated, I think it’s time I say something too.

First of all: No.

These stories are not AI generated. And if you’ve actually read them, I think you know that.

You know how much time and effort I poured into those two stories. You’ve seen me plant one tiny detail in one chapter only to bring it back forty chapters later.

Across almost 130 chapters and two full books, I tried to connect events, conversations, memories, characters, timelines, and details that didn’t make sense until dozens of chapters later.

You also know how emotionally draining those stories were, for me to write and for you to read as well.

AI can generate something emotional. It can write a sad scene or give you pretty words.

But AI does NOT feel.

It doesn’t carry an emotion from chapter 11 and understand why it needs to hurt again in chapter 62.

It doesn’t spend months growing attached to fictional people alongside its readers.

We went through those stories together. I struggled with chapters. I rewrote scenes. I changed my mind. I cried my eyes out. I hated things, loved them again, and somehow still finished them.

That came from me.

My weird little brain. My imagination. My attachment to these characters. Every ridiculous plot twist you suffered through was unfortunately my own doing.

Now do I claim to be some great author? Absolutely NOT. I have never pretended to be a bestselling novelist.

Half the time I cringe when someone even calls me a writer.

But even as a silly wattpader, does AI generate my plots, my scenes, my characters, my dialogue, or decide where my stories go? NO.

But do I use AI at all? Yes.

I use it for vocabulary, synonyms, grammar, since English is not my first language, nor my second.

I use it for research, for subjects I know nothing about, like amnesia, like cancer, medicine, law, psychology, or whatever I happen to be torturing Lena with that week.🌝

And I’m not ashamed of it. AI is a tool, and I will continue using it as one.

Using a tool while creating something is not the same as asking that tool to create it for you.

Writers have always used dictionaries, thesauruses, encyclopedias, editors, search engines, research papers, and whatever resources were available to them.

The tools change.

Getting help with information or language does not erase the imagination, planning, emotion, and work behind a story.

If someone considers any use of AI taboo, they’re entitled to that opinion. But that is their boundary, not mine.

And I will not accept having nearly 130 chapters of my own work and effort dismissed with the words “AI generated.”

These stories may be fanfiction. They may be imperfect. English may not be my first or second language. I may never comfortably call myself a writer.

But they are mine. My ideas. My plots. My emotions. My creativity. My twists. My late night wall staring.

My work.

And I’m proud of that.

Thank you to everyone who reads them, feels them, cries over them, yells at me because of them, and most importantly, knows the difference. 🤍
