For 50 years, the tram has been traversing the East River between Roosevelt Island and the Upper East Side, departing and arriving from Tramway Plaza right in our own backyard!
This week we honor all those we have lost and continue our vow to never forget.

🚨 WANTED FOR ROBBERY: on Friday, March 13, 2026, at approximately 8:17 P.M., a 75-year-old female victim was in the vicinity of 61st Street and 1st Avenue, in the confines of the NYPD 19 Precinct, when two unidentified individuals approached her from behind and grabbed her purse. The victim fell to the ground and the individuals fled into the 59th street-Lexington subway station with her purse.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at https://t.co/2PvTmQgxad, on X @NYPDTips.

On this day in 1916, 19th Precinct Patrolman William McAuliffe, was shot and killed while walking his beat on the corner of 2nd Avenue and East 67th Street.
