I will say this raw, without fear, because I am Luo and I refuse to lie to my own people.

One of the most frustrating habits in our politics is this: we can spend years stoning a presidential candidate, calling him every name under the sun, declaring him unfit to lead, only to crawl back and claim we supported him all along once the political tide turns.

We have seen this movie before.

Mwai Kibaki was dismissed and attacked by powerful voices in Luo politics. Then he won. Suddenly the same political establishment discovered the art of working with Kibaki.

Uhuru Kenyatta was despised by many in Luo political circles. He was dismissed as a privileged son, and his personal life was dragged into the political battlefield. Then Uhuru won.

The same people who had spent years demonising William Ruto once described him as a thief and worse. Today, some of those voices cannot even discuss him without suddenly discovering political nuance.

And now we have Kalonzo Musyoka.

Suddenly Kalonzo is a coward.

Suddenly he cannot be President.

Suddenly he has no national following.

Suddenly everybody has become a constitutional scholar and presidential expert.

Keep going.

Throw your stones.

But remember one thing.

September 2027 is coming.

Kalonzo Musyoka is going to emerge as the man at the centre of the next government, I don't want to hear the usual political amnesia.

Don't come running with:

“We started with Kalonzo.”

“Baba told us never to attack Kalonzo.”

“Raila always knew Kalonzo would win.”

No. Enough.

You cannot spend five years murdering someone's political reputation and then appear at the victory parade pretending you were his midwife.

You cannot call a man a coward today and tomorrow call yourself his oldest political ally.

You cannot bury someone's ambition in the morning and arrive in the evening carrying flowers to his State House ceremony.

I am Luo. And because I am Luo, I will say this plainly:

We must stop confusing loyalty to a political personality with political wisdom.

For 15years Kambas gave Luos Number.

Luyahs gave Luos Numbers

Kisii gave Luos Numbers

Kikuyu gave Luos Numbers

And to Wandayi, Junet and every other political operator watching this space: I don't want to see people who spent their time undermining Kalonzo suddenly appearing beside him when the mathematics changes.

Politics has memory.

Kenyans have memory.

And screenshots have memory.

Ruto thought Kenyans were stupid.

That was his mistake.

Don't make the same mistake.

September 2027 will expose who genuinely believed in their politics and who was merely waiting to see which way the wind blew.
