His name is Storm. He came to Mountain Ridge Shelter in February 2015 as a six-month-old stray - adopted within a month, returned seven weeks later for "destroying furniture." Adopted again in late 2015, back by spring 2016 because "neighbors complained he was too vocal." One more adoption in 2017, returned within six weeks for being "too high-energy for our kids."

After that, people stopped looking at the growing Husky mix. His energy calmed as he aged, his face went completely gray, and he lived in kennel #8 for ten years.

Yesterday, Thomas, 48, who'd just lost his own Husky of sixteen years last September, walked in. Staff tried showing him younger, healthier dogs with fewer behavior issues. Thomas refused all of them and asked specifically: "Which dog has waited here the absolute longest without being chosen?"

We brought out Storm. Thomas knelt beside him, looked at his entirely gray face, and said: "Ten years in a kennel. That's over right now." He signed everything immediately and walked out with Storm that afternoon.

Ten years is 3,650 days behind chain-link and concrete. The wait is finally over. It's never too late for an American shelter dog to finally be chosen.

It was the middle of the night, at about 1.30am, when Norway lost to England.

Yet thousands of Norwegians went to the Palace in Oslo and celebrated with one final Viking row.

They did not riot. They did not burn cars. They did not smash bus stops or glass windows of shops.

They smiled. The laughed. They saw the positive in their performance. They celebrated their heritage. They were proud of who they have been in the past and who they are today.

The day Marie brought her daughter home from the hospital, she thought the hardest part would be getting some sleep. Instead, she kept watching Tank. Tank is a Great Dane, all 140 pounds of him, and for six years he’d been the baby of the house. She should’ve trusted him. From the first afternoon, Tank seemed to give himself a job. Every time they laid the baby down in the nursery, he followed them in, sniffed carefully near the crib, and settled beside it like someone had put him on the night shift. Pretty soon, Marie started finding him there at all hours. If the baby fussed at three in the morning, Tank was already standing by the crib before Marie even made it down the hall. Her husband joked that they didn’t need the baby monitor anymore. They already had a 140-pound one. What surprised Marie most was how gentle he made himself. Tank moved through that little room like he was afraid of bumping the crib, and when the baby cried, he never got worked up. He’d rest his chin on the rail, give one slow wag, and wait for Marie like he was reporting for duty. This morning, Marie stood in the doorway and watched him lower himself to the floor beside the crib with a long sigh. Her daughter was asleep, and the room was so quiet Marie could hear her breathing. “You’re going to look after her,” she said softly. “I know you are.” Did you ever have a dog who seemed to know exactly who needed protecting?

Que sigo esperando con paciencia y confianza que la visita de los Inspectores de Justicia y Vigilancia que llegaron a constatar el ADOSAMIENTO ILEGAL a mi casa en URDENOR UNO MZ 120 V16, genere algún resultado y que después de 5 años se haga justicia. @alcaldiagye @DiegoArcos14

#KARMA. A través de redes sociales circula un impactante video en el que se aprecia a un elefante pisoteando a una persona hasta causarle la muerte. Según se dice, la víctįma sería un polémico millonario y cazador estadounidense llamado Ernie Dosio, quien se encontraba en África.

Sin embargo, el video que se difunde ampliamente en plataformas digitales no evidencia lo sucedido con Dosio, pues las noticias internacionales aseguran que fueron cinco elefantes los que reaccionaron defensivamente y se lanzaron contra el sujeto hasta dejarlo completamente inerte en el lugar.

La muęrte de este tipo, quien era blanco de constantes críticas por parte de organizaciones ambientalistas debido a su historial de caza de especies exóticas y protegidas, ha encendido nuevamente el debate en redes sociales sobre los riesgos y la ética de la caza deportiva de élite.

Una vecina del edificio vio que una pareja de ancianos hacía todos los días su ejercicio diario de caminar por el pasillo, así que preparó una mesa con aperitivos y bebidas para animarlos y darles ánimos. ❤️
