How crazy was that TD?
That ball had an air distance of 55.1 yards. Williams scrambled 21.3 yds and took 5.86 seconds to throw the ball, per @NextGenStats
A 14-yard TD pass: That's the highest air distance on a TD pass of less than 15 yds in the Next Gen Era (since 2016).
Wow.
My Moore and #Jets#NFLDraft thoughts (with more coming on @BadlandsTOJ AM Coffee pod and Friday newsletter)
1 - We are five days removed from the discourse being Moore was a perfect Jet and the next Zach Wilson after every turnover he made against Indiana and now the discourse seems to be it is an unmitigated disaster for the #Jets he is staying in school.
2 - To the above, the truth always lies in the middle. Moore was not as bad as he looked against Indiana but was probably a stretch for the #Jets at #2 in their current situation with exceptionally long odds of succeeding here. I don't know anyone who felt he was a slam dunk, no questions asked pick there.
3 - I have seen too much shit for this to be the world class crash out I am seeing from #Jets fans. This isn't Peyton Manning staying in school. I am aware everyone is (extremely) down on AG, especially after 5 weeks of Brady Cook and Ja'Sir Taylor football but independent of that the team maintains their boat load of picks and cap space to fill a roster with a high volume of needs.
4 - What is next? Try to operate like an adult organization. Cast a wider net for your DC search than Wink Martindale, find a proper QB coach, draft 4 impact players at #2, #16, #33, #44, sign a couple in free agency, continue to flush the mope out, do what you are paid for and find a veteran who can throw a 10 yard out route to pair with a potential day two dart throw and then go back to well if needed in 2027 with your three first round picks.
Main thoughts:
- Great to see JJ basically look back to normal and Q playing expanded reps
- 60/30/10 was rough expectation so no shock at RB and if anything I think you see Davis taking a bit more from Allen going forward...can't take Breece off the field more if he is playing like he did yesterday and can even make case he should be closer to 70% or so
- Clock should be loudly ticking on Adams and Stephens...I think Reynolds gradually dips closer to 70-75% or so to open up more Smith/Johnson reps
