McKenna Wendel was only 14 years old.
She was reported missing from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on March 13, 2026.
Just six days later, her remains were found in rural Brookings County.
🚨 THIS IS WHY WE TAKE EVERY MISSING CHILD SERIOUSLY 🚨
Six days.
That is all it took for a missing child case to become a death investigation.
Today, federal authorities announced indictments against two men in connection with McKenna’s death. According to prosecutors, 51-year-old Mark Milk, McKenna’s uncle, has been charged with offenses that include possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance resulting in death and transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. A second man, 38-year-old Jon Rogness, has been charged with conspiracy and accessory after the fact.
The charges stem from a lengthy investigation involving authorities in South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota. Prosecutors have stated that the location where McKenna was found is not believed to be where she died.
As the case moves through the court system, it is important to remember that these are allegations and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
But what is not in dispute is that a 14-year-old girl lost her life.
This is why we refuse to dismiss missing children as “just runaways.”
This is why we share their flyers.
This is why we ask people to keep looking.
This is why we advocate even when others stop paying attention.
Because when a child is missing, we do not know what dangers they may be facing. We do not know who may be exploiting them, harming them, or putting them at risk.
Every missing child deserves urgency.
Every missing child deserves attention.
Every missing child deserves the assumption that they may not be safe.
If you see a missing child flyer in your feed, please do not scroll past it.
Share it.
Talk about it.
Keep their name alive.
The one share you almost didn’t make could be the one that reaches the right person.
Today, we remember McKenna Wendel and the family who loved her.
And we continue to stand with every family still searching for a missing child.
Because behind every missing child is a family waiting for answers.
And until every child is found, we will keep sharing, searching, and speaking their names.

Judge Subramanian to #Diddy “ I want you to understand, Mr. Combs, you are not being sentenced for acquitted conduct. But under 3553 I must consider many things... Mr. Combs, you are a self-made artist who has inspired community of color.
We saw the video. The Free Game course in the MDC, the court hopes you continue to expand it. You are devoted to your family. The court of course considers the collateral consequences. The Court has to consider all of your history here.
A history of good works can't wash away the record in this case. You abused these women. You used that abuse to get your way, freak offs and hotel nights. The evidence of the abuse is massive. I was sitting right here, during the testimony.
This was subjugation - that is the reality of what happened. These offenses irreparably harmed 2 women. You plied them with drugs. Why did it happen so long? You had the power and resources to keep it going.
A significant sentence is required to deter. You say you're sorry and you won't do it again. After Ms. Ventura's civil lawsuit was filed - after the video was public, and investigation started- you had a brutal hotel night with Jane, punched her in the head.
Jane says he told her, Take this pill, do out there and s*ck his d*ck, f*ck him, I don't care. The Court is not convinced this would not happen again. The Court has considered the programs - they are outweighed by the trial record in this case.
Exploitation and violence against women must be met with real accountability, to promote respect for the law. The Court reaches a few conclusions. 135 months would be more than necessary.
A sentence over 11 years is not reasonable. Even the Probation Department recommends a sentence less than half of that. But 14 months, time served, would not be sufficient.
Here, the data shows a wide variety of sentences. Weighing all the relevant factors, the Court determines that the sentences is 50 months of incarceration.
Strange, I know, but I find myself completely untroubled by the fact that total strangers don't understand why I think women's rights are worth defending.
