When I was 19 in the Marines, I saved for my first car using a simple notebook.
Years later, I wanted a budgeting app that felt just as clear, simple, and private.
I couldn’t find one, so I built it.
FitBudget is live on the App Store.

It was a self-debate for a few days if this was a splurge or saving money on barbershop costs. Maybe a bit of both…

Since budgeting, I’ve been paying down debt faster and spending less on wants to reach my savings goals. Even simply by tracking, spending behavior changes.
Fun fact: less than 50% of general population budgets vs over 90% of millionaires.
@shanedevane That’s a really good idea! We get so caught up sometimes on the routine things that we don’t get to experience new things enough. Good on you! Will need to put this on my list
Only way to get there is to define what “there” means for you.
Small steps… created a vacation fund goal, and already two months into it. Saw I was spending a bit too much on Wants and adjusted and started tracking.
Set goals and track regularly. You’ll get there faster than you thought.
@marktilbury I always think of a quote from E. Demming on this; “You can expect, what you inspect”. Even by simply tracking expenses, naturally our behavior changes. And once the habit is formed, get easier to slowly transform budgeting into a powerful tool.
@eliana_jordan Agree. Boring saas customers stick around but takes longer to build trust. Developers who can stick around the longest will surely benefit.
@ezgicodes It can be a bid of both. It’s really what you make of it. It’s hard not to think certain aspects of it is indeed for obedience. I start questioning if it should be looked upon as supplemental and more effort should be given at home to support creativity.
