What if some of the world’s biggest companies don’t actually own the things they are famous for?
● Rapido doesn’t need to own a massive fleet of bikes.
● Urban Company doesn’t need to own salons.
● Flipkart doesn’t manufacture most of the products it sells.
● Zomato doesn’t need to own restaurants.
● IndiaMART doesn’t manufacture the products listed on its platform.
● https://t.co/SzRDLdBW21 doesn’t make any products list worldwide in their platform.
● Booking .com doesn’t need to own hotels.
● redBus doesn’t need to own buses.
● Uber doesn’t need to own a fleet of cars.
● BookMyShow doesn’t need to own theatres.
● Airbnb doesn’t need to own the properties listed on its platform.
So, what do these companies actually own?
They own technology, platforms, customer relationships, brands, data and distribution networks.
This is the power of the asset-light business model. Instead of spending huge amounts of capital on physical assets, these companies create platforms that connect customers with businesses, service providers, sellers, drivers, hotels, property owners and other partners.
The biggest advantage is scalability. A company can potentially expand into new cities, categories and markets without purchasing every physical asset required to deliver the service.
However, asset-light doesn’t mean asset-free. These companies still invest heavily in technology, employees, marketing, customer support, logistics, infrastructure, compliance and ecosystem development.
The bigger business lesson is simple: You don’t always need to own the assets to build a valuable business. Sometimes, the most powerful asset is the platform that connects everyone.
This business model has completely changed how modern startups and technology companies scale. From mobility and food delivery to travel, e-commerce, entertainment and home services, platform businesses are reshaping traditional industries.

Turn Your Products Into Global Opportunities; 10 practical ways to increase sales.!

For manufacturers, traders and exporters, the best way to increase both domestic and international sales is not simply to “advertise more.” The real goal is to build a system where the right buyers can discover, trust, enquire, compare and order your products.
10 practical ways to increase sales
1. Build a strong digital product presence
* Professional website/company profile
* Complete product catalogue
* Product photos/videos
* Specifications, packing, MOQ and pricing guidance
* Certifications and business documents
* Factory/warehouse information
2. List products where buyers are actually searching
* Your own website
* B2B marketplaces
* Industry-specific portals
* Google search
* Social media
* Export/buyer directories
3. Make every product listing buyer-friendly
Every listing should clearly answer:
What is it? → Who manufactures it? → Specifications? → MOQ? → Where available? → Certifications? → Can it be exported? → How to enquire?
4. Target buyers outside your existing city
A manufacturer shouldn’t depend only on local distributors. Build visibility across:
* Other Indian states
* Distributors
* Wholesalers
* Retailers
* Institutional buyers
* Importers
* International distributors
5. Create an export-ready profile
Export buyers need confidence. Show:
* IEC and relevant registrations
* Product certifications
* HS code
* Country of origin
* Packing details
* MOQ
* Production capacity
* Port/shipping capability
* Payment terms
* Export markets served
6. Generate enquiries, not just followers
Every product should have a clear CTA such as:
“Request Quote” | “Send Enquiry” | “Get Wholesale Price” | “Request Sample” | “Talk to Supplier”
7. Respond extremely quickly
A buyer who receives a professional quotation in 10 minutes may buy from you instead of waiting for a reply tomorrow.
8. Use content to attract buyers
Instead of only posting “Buy our product,” publish:
* Market demand
* Product applications
* Price trends
* Export opportunities
* Sourcing regions
* Industry information
* New products
* Manufacturing capabilities
9. Build buyer trust
Verified business information, company documents, product certifications, genuine photographs, reviews, transaction history and clear contact details can significantly improve enquiry-to-order conversion.
10. Track the complete sales funnel
Measure:
Product views → Buyer enquiries → Qualified enquiries → Quotations → Negotiations → Orders → Repeat orders
“Don’t wait for buyers to find your business. Make your products discoverable to buyers across India and the world.”
The platform can help manufacturers, traders and exporters through a 5-step sales engine:
REGISTER → VERIFY → LIST PRODUCTS → GET DISCOVERED → RECEIVE BUYER ENQUIRIES
Then add advanced functions around this:
🇮🇳 Domestic sales
Manufacturer/Trader → BaelTrade → Distributor/Wholesaler/Retailer/Institutional Buyer
🌎 International sales
Indian Seller → BaelTrade → Global Buyer/Importer/Distributor
“Put your products in front of buyers beyond your city, state and country.”
Your Market Shouldn’t Stop at Your City.
Reach Buyers Across Domestic& Globally.
List your products. Build your business profile. Get discovered. Generate enquiries. Grow your sales.

“What if agricultural waste could become a raw material?”
🌱 The story behind Taruwar Agro
Taruwar Agro was founded by three MBA friends from Bihar — Jagat Kalyan, Satyam Kumar and Nitish Kumar Verma. They launched the venture around 2021 after deciding to build something in Bihar rather than simply pursue conventional jobs, including opportunities outside India.
Their breakthrough came from looking at banana cultivation in Hajipur/Vaishali.
After farmers harvested the bananas, the remaining banana plant/stem was generally treated as waste. The founders saw something different:
Waste → Raw material → Fibre → Products → Business
They began researching how banana stems could be processed into fibre. Satyam Kumar reportedly researched the process extensively and experimented with fibre extraction. They also received guidance from agricultural scientists at KVK Vaishali during the early development stage.
💰 They started relatively small
One of the most interesting aspects is the capital requirement.
Publicly reported figures indicate that the founders started with roughly ₹15 lakh of their own savings/family support, along with about ₹5 lakh working capital, rather than beginning with a large external investment. The company reportedly has not raised external capital and reached approximately ₹2.5 crore revenue in FY2025–26.
That makes the story particularly relevant for small manufacturers and entrepreneurs.
🚜 The farmer problem became part of the business model
The founders didn’t simply buy agricultural waste from a marketplace.
They created a local supply chain:
Farmer harvests banana → banana fruit is sold → plant/stem remains → Taruwar purchases it → fibre extraction → manufacturing → sale
This gives farmers an additional income opportunity while also helping clear the harvested plants from their fields.
There was also a major trust problem initially. Previous banana-fibre businesses in the area had reportedly failed, making farmers cautious. Taruwar built trust by actually paying farmers for the stems they purchased.
🧵 They didn’t stop at selling banana fibre
This is where the business model becomes clever.
Instead of being only a banana-fibre supplier, Taruwar started developing multiple products:
* Banana fibre
* Yoga mats
* Baskets
* File folders
* Prayer mats
* Yarns and fabrics
* Vermicompost
* Plant-nutrition liquid
* Banana-fibre materials for other manufacturers
The company is also exploring vegan leather, textiles, banana flour, starch, chips, juice and jelly.
So the philosophy is essentially:
Don’t waste any significant part of the plant.
The residual material after fibre extraction can itself become another product, such as vermicompost.
👩🌾 It became more than a manufacturing company
The model created a small ecosystem around the factory:
Farmers → Raw material → Local workers → Processing → Manufacturing → B2B/B2C buyers
According to recent reporting, women account for nearly 60% of the workforce, showing that the company is also using local employment as part of its business model.
📈 How they moved from idea to ₹2.5 crore
Their growth appears to have followed a very practical sequence:
1. Find a local problem
Banana stems were being discarded.
2. Find a use for the waste
Research banana-fibre extraction.
3. Experiment locally
Develop the processing capability.
4. Build farmer relationships
Pay farmers for material that previously had little value.
5. Develop products
Don’t depend on selling only raw fibre.
6. Find B2B buyers
Send samples and develop customer relationships.
7. Add B2C sales
Sell finished products through online channels.
8. Build multiple revenue streams
Fibre + finished products + agricultural products + machinery/material solutions.
This is a very important lesson: they didn’t build the company by starting with a huge factory. They built a value chain first and expanded the business around it.
🌳 Why the name “Taruwar”?
Interestingly, “Taruwar” means “tree” in Hindi. The company says the name reflects its philosophy of starting from something small and growing into something that creates value for people and the environment.
🔥 The biggest business lesson
I think the most powerful part of the Taruwar story isn’t actually banana fibre.
It’s this:
They didn’t ask, “What product can we manufacture?”
They asked, “What resource around us is being wasted?”
That is a completely different way of finding a business opportunity.
For someone building an agriculture/B2B marketplace such as https://t.co/SzRDLdBW21 , Taruwar is an excellent case study because it shows how a local agricultural residue can become a national and potentially global product category.
And there is an even bigger opportunity hidden in this model: India has hundreds of agricultural residues—coconut husk, banana stem, paddy straw, sugarcane bagasse, corn residue, groundnut shells, cotton stalks, etc.—that can potentially become raw materials, packaging, fibres, boards, bio-products, animal feed or other value-added products.
Buyers don't just look at the product — here’s the 10 things buyers usually check before contacting a manufacturer!
