@yashsiddham_@Jake__Wujastyk I'd rather own equity, then you can mostly ignore what the market does in the short term as long as the underlying business is going well
@BigBladder887@SpencerHakimian @rug_ros Sure it has some minimal impact, but it's really far fetched. The market gets a little bit smaller, but in this market the VAT applies in the same way to domestic and foreign companies. Incometaxes also reduce spending on goods, so where do you draw the line?
@philippilk@BattistaLuc1 I think it has historical reasons. A deal reached after being bullied is something the CPC can't agree to as it would lose a lot of credibility with the Chinese people.
@andymok @I_loves_deep_nn @Jukanlosreve Because of sanctions against China, domestic alternatives don't have to compete with foreign high-end chips. So even if the quality is worse and has a higher price initially, Chinese companies still have to use it, thus providing more funding for further R&D.
@VCompounder26@TheLongInvest You can't really compare these two companies. Alibaba certainly deserves a lower valuation than Apple, because the Chinese government values the people more than companies and the end goal is always prosperity for the entire population.
@Aldamir@philippilk the treaty doesn't say anything explicitly about defending. Delivering equipment might already be enough to fulfil the treaty in theory.
@iainzeno@philippilk Because the stimulus checks are given by the government and the government lends the money from the Fed, which printed it. Thus you have more money supply, while production doesn't increase -> higher prices
@shaunrein@vonderleyen It's only speculation, but hostility between the EU and China certainly would be in her interest. She isn't dumb so she must know about the consequences, but continues despite or even because of that.
@BeijingDai@rippinkitten18 Without native Android support western markets will be difficult, but the rest of the world certainly has a high potential for that. Maybe if they get big enough again in a few years, more App developers could develop native apps for Huawei and then they have a chance in EU again
@Micro2Macr0@Kanthan2030 The dollar won't go away anytime soon. However the goal of BRICS is to create an alternative, so financial sanctions by the west against them will be less effective.
@Crypto_Bono@shaunrein It's actually bad for almost everyone as this leads to higher trade barriers and permanent higher costs. If decoupling was a good thing for the economy, North Korea as a extremely heavy sanctioned country would have a great economy, which obviously isn't the case.
@Enigma_Soul01@babangtheophile@hikosaemon Learning the meaning of the Kanji is the easy part, but the annoying part is that every Kanji has multiple readings. Chinese is a lot better in that regard with only a few Hanzi having multiple readings.
@CDanAshcroft@senW_2019 @KeaweWong There never was an independent Taiwan. Only for while the RoC existed, which only had Taiwan under their control. But RoC doesn't exist anymore in international law. If the people in Taiwan, Crimea or transnistria see themselves part of a different country is another question.
