Have you heard? We (including you!) are a new, unsettling force and we are powerful. Yes, a new unsettling force for liberation! We have got nothing to lose but our chains! ⛓️ Join us as we gear up in 2024 to demand better for all of us! #MD#PoorPeoplesCampaign
The power of a person is found in likeness to Jesus Christ. It is not found in brilliance, gifting, knowledge, position, verbal power, reputation or fame. It is found when a person flings open the corridors & closets of their life so that they are full of the light & love of God.
55 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. ignited the #PoorPeoplesCampaign, leading a 6-week long protest at the National Mall and calling on the US to re-dedicate itself to the war on poverty. Join us in the #NationalCallForMoralRevival! 🔗 https://t.co/thsFe0ntfe
Mega corporations pocketing billions while the public subsidizes their labor costs is akin to robbery.
Good on the @UN for calling this out. You're welcome on the picket line with us anytime!
Christians often fail to report the crime of abuse thinking they are protecting family or some part of the body of Christ. Family and church are God-ordained institutions worthy of our protection. But God does not protect those institutions when they are enterprises full of evil.
Most poverty is because of policy not because people are lazy. Poverty is killing people. Poverty is not a Black issue or white issue, but an American issue.
Our deeply entrenched egocentricity is a major hindrance to our pursuit of justice. We are not naturally moved by the evil, sin, and suffering of this world to do justice until it infringes on our world, our comfort, and our relationships.
Your voice is your power. Join us and A Wider Circle for a training on giving testimony to help change policies. When voices come together we can create change!

Every time we treat someone with dignity rather than shame, respect rather than disregard, concern rather than exploitation, kindness rather than brutality and careful attention rather than turning away – we are doing things that are the reverse of trauma and evil.
Sharing again that my father was NOT advocating for a #colorblind society. Please stop taking one line from one speech (in which he also talked about #policebrutality & #reparations) to make it seem as though his dream was void of work, like teaching history & eradicating racism.
