WATCH: Boston councilors blocked a financial audit of the city's $100M deficit, then voted 8-3 against urging Governor Healey to suspend the gas tax — saying the city NEEDS the revenue.
They won't show you the books. But they'll make sure you keep paying.
Massachusetts ranks dead last in government transparency. Dead last in the entire country.
Why? Because the governor’s office, the Democrat supermajority legislature, and the judiciary all exempt themselves from the state’s public records law.
Every mayor, every town clerk, every local cop has to open their books. The people who actually run the state? They get to hide the receipts, the contracts, the emails, the side deals.
Local officials answer to you. The ruling class on Beacon Hill does not.
They skip votes, they steer billions in contracts, they protect their little fiefdom.... and you’re not allowed to see it. The same party that weaponized “sunshine” laws against Republicans now treats public scrutiny like kryptonite.
Our legislature is already ranked the least productive in America... apparently showing up and showing their work is too much to ask.
🚨 Lawsuit filed! @massauditor takes Beacon Hill to court to enforce the voter-approved audit law. Despite passing with 72%, the audit law has faced roadblocks from the legislature and the Attorney General, who has been doing her utmost to keep this issue out of the courts.
It’s hard to have an honest conversation about energy costs when Governor Healey pretends her own record doesn’t exist and continually gaslights the public.
The pattern is becoming routine and it’s part of why energy costs keep climbing.
Governor Healey got a 10% raise.
The Legislature took an 11% raise.
Mayor Wu wants a $43,000 raise.
And here’s what taxpayers get in return:
Massachusetts ranks 50th out of 50 in economic competitiveness.
The state budget has doubled in 12 years — and it’s still not enough for them.
Healey keeps pushing new taxes on working families.
And Beacon Hill blocked an audit that 72% of voters demanded.
They reward themselves while the state falls behind.
Make sense to you? Didn’t think so.
@JamesOKeefeIII@TheJusticeDept@AGPamBondi Could Trump be using the list to leverage everyone on it to get his vision done? He keeps the list hidden only if they comply… if he himself is not on it
@Big3Tennis It was obvious in real time and Draper had to know it by feel… he should have just said it wasn’t his call. If Draper played golf, he would have called it on himself #golf#tennis
