Somewhere a therapist is trying to get people to "live in the moment" while this girl is already three levels deep into a made up game that only exists in her head and involves real trains.
The world needs more pointless whimsy.
#ictbaddrivers speed limit on N Hydraulic 40mph in front of @Coleman facility. EVERYONE knows there are Canadian geese that cross the road. Only a true coward hits a walking goose in broad daylight! Slow the F DOWN #Wichita !
“Today I was on my way to Family Dollar up the street from my house.
I saw this FedEx driver, Rondy, do a U turn at the second entrance to a trailer park that used to be Farmview.
I looked in my rear view mirror to see him pulled over to help this 75 year old man get his little cart/wagon and groceries out of the ditch.
The man had fell into the ditch from the heat. I did not see the man in the ditch, but Rondy did. I turned around to go help the Fedex driver.
The older gentleman, 75 years old, had walked to the Food bank up the street. The older gentleman was so exhausted from the heat he could barely stand. I asked them both if I could take a picture of them. They both gave consent.
Rondy shows so much compassion, it made me proud. Another gentleman stopped to help. We told Rondy we knew he was busy we would get him to his home.
Rondy was thankful. He said they are timed for their deliveries but he still stopped to help this older man. Please help share as much as we can. Hopefully somehow we can get this act of kindness to his supervisor.”
Paul Newman in Washington where Dr. King delivered his ‘I Have a Dream Speech’ August 28, 1963. Paul Newman was not only a Hollywood super star, but a philanthropist and way-ahead-of-his-time activist.
He was fighting against big oil companies and sounding the alarm on pollution and global warming waaay back in the 1970s. He'd been an outspoken advocate for gay-rights in the 70s and 80s. Being listed as one of Nixon's "enemies" was a badge of honor for him when he protested the Vietnam War.
He refused to take any profits from his salad dressing company, and instead donated 100% of all proceeds, giving millions of dollars to charities ranging from student scholarships, to environmental causes, and aid to refugees.
He supported Martin Luther King Jr. and the civil rights movement, and was basically all about helping less fortunate people his whole life. Paul Newman was a a real life super hero and a role model for all of us. Also very handsome.
thinking about bourdain’s episode in palestine today. CNN almost didn’t air it but he fought like hell to keep the episode and share their stories since mainstream media so rarely gave the opportunity to empathize with the every day of palestinians.
I received a note today from @NathanThrall, journalist and author of “A Day In The Life of Abed Salama” that resonated deeply with me. I wanted to share his words as we all watch in horror what is unfolding between the Israeli Government and Hamas today. ⤵️
“It is horrific to see innocent civilians killed and held hostage, and there is no justification for it. We pray for their safety, as we pray for the safety of the innocent people of Gaza who are being bombarded and besieged.”
BREAKING: Iconic actor Mark Ruffalo blasts indicted 2024 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, declares Trump an “enemy of America” and calls out the media after Trump makes insanely dangerous threats.
It all started when Donald Trump encouraged his supporters to “go after” New York Attorney General Letitia James for holding him and his family business accountable for decades of widespread financial fraud — and shorty thereafter declared that shoplifters should be shot in sight.
Mark Ruffalo responded, declaring that the media needs to “wake up” and start calling Trump out on his dangerous threats before he gets someone killed.
Then, Ruffalo concluded, “A presidential contender is calling for Americans to kill and harm Americans. Let that sink in. He’s the Enemy of America from within.”
Sadly, Mark Ruffalo couldn’t be more right.
Trump is going down in flames, and he’s trying to take America down with him. He must be disqualified from the presidential race and locked away in prison cell before he does even more damage to America and its struggling democracy.
Please retweet and ❤️ to thank @MarkRuffalo for calling Trump out publicly — and consider joining the growing exodus to Tribel, a woke new Twitter competitor that banned Trump for life and is exploding in popularity because Elon Musk banned Tribel’s Twitter account — but he forgot to ban this link to download the new Tribel app: https://t.co/HnJzSKjCwX
Years ago, anthropologist Margaret Mead was asked by a student what she considered to be the first sign of civilization in a culture.
The student expected Mead to talk about fishhooks or clay pots or grinding stones.
But no.
Mead said that the first sign of civilization in an ancient culture was a femur (thighbone) that had been broken and then healed. Mead explained that in the animal kingdom, if you break your leg, you die.
You cannot run from danger, get to the river for a drink or hunt for food. You are meat for prowling beasts. No animal survives a broken leg long enough for the bone to heal.
A broken femur that has healed is evidence that someone has taken time to stay with the one who fell, has bound up the wound, has carried the person to safety and has tended the person through recovery.
Helping someone else through difficulty is where civilization starts, Mead said."
We are at our best when we serve others.
Be civilized.

“Yesterday my baby girl calls her dad crying - she left her wallet on the bus. 😳
We're all upset and she naively asks if she'll get it back. Not wanting to crush her spirit anymore-I admitted it was highly unlikely.
Get home and there is a young man banging on my door, stirring up the babies... ? “Can I help you?”
He responds he's looking for AK.? “So who are you?”
He begins- “I found her wallet on the bus and wanted to return it.
Everything is still in it, even the money. It happened to me a few weeks ago and I know how bad it feels.”
I took money out of my pocket and gave him what I had.
I couldn't let him go, we talked, he touched my heart some more so I reached into her wallet and gave him the $20 that was sitting there too. 😜
Turns out young Baxter is 19, goes to school in NY AND is the son of a co-worker(small world)...
This gesture has doused my cynicism and restored my faith.
Mr and Mrs Charles Perkins, you should be proud.
AND he has become an honorary member of our family. 😍
