HALF AGE EP: Man, I heard @Wevalmusic ‘s “The Most” in a Chipotle & had to Shazam it, holding my phone in the air like a fool

I’ve revisited this EP time & time again, & it never gets old. Sometimes sounds like Kid A at its best

Worth a listen for sure

AH UM: Jazz is hit-or-miss for me

@Mingus ‘s AH UM is a 3-run homer. This album is an up-town blast. Mingus kept things In The Pocket from start to finish, with fun calls & passion in each note

An eternal classic.

WILD SMILE: A hidden gem. Suckers are no longer, & I wish they’d avoided some silly falsetto, but the songwriting & tonal perfection of these songs are often exquisite

They often sound more like CYHSY more than CYHSY has for a decade - plus @modestmouseband

I’ve many reviews analyzing this on purely musical grounds (& they still love it)

but this truly is meant for what it says: undergoing therapy via Ketamine or psylocybin

& I can tell you: it’s near-perfect

BLUR: Unfairly boxed-in by WOO-HOO, this album (& their entire catalog after it) showed them transcend pop & enter the world of 90s alternative

Where they continued to level up for a decade+

So many hits on this album; it’s funny the one megasmash was a parody of grunge
