Le traditionnel défilé rara du festival Haïti en Folie a rassemblé les festivaliers dans les rues du Plateau-Mont-Royal à l’occasion de la 20e édition de l’événement. Pour la 10e édition de ce cortège, les groupes Rara Jazz et Rara Pa Nou, accompagnés des danseuses d’Ayiti Makaya, ont parcouru le trajet entre le parc des Compagnons et le parc La Fontaine.

Au rythme des tambours, des bambous et des tcha-tcha, des centaines de participants ont retrouvé l’atmosphère des défilés de rara en Haïti. Pratique culturelle issue de l’histoire haïtienne et liée aux traditions afro-haïtiennes, le rara reste un symbole important de l’identité culturelle du pays. La journée s’est poursuivie sur le site du festival avec une foire artisanale et des spectacles en plein air.
