I have definitely heard stories of male members of both houses being total nightmares but apparently no reporter has. Because somehow we get these stories about women leaders exclusively
My tenth studio album, BASS PERSUADES, is yours September 18th.
Music takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong.
Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That’s what the title means to me.
Thank you for being a part of making my wildest dreams come true. I sincerely hope you love this album. ❤️ Miley
If you need to call the Mayor directly to address a problem, it’s evidence of a broken system.
You should not need the Mayor’s direct cell phone or hope for a pothole request to go viral on social media to fix a problem.
Vote Nithya Raman for a city that works.
The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share. Our most sacred moments were private and they’ll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts.
What I KNOW is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong. I have an angel by my side. I always have. One of our last conversations was about music and metamorphosis. 🦋
I will always love her and want to make her proud. My heart breaks for the world, her family and friends who will miss her deeply. We’re in this loss together and we will see her in all of the most beautiful things. 💖 @dollyparton
Yes! I moved to LA fifteen years ago to be a television writer, creating a show that shot on the Fox lot. And then I started a business with two friends that employs about a HUNDRED people in Hollywood. If you view this as a mistake, I'm sad to hear that from Karen Bass's team.
We can see LA as you do - a static and shrinking place, where everyone competes with each other for limited housing, setting "newcomers" against latino communities, or homeowners against renters, etc. etc.
Or we can see LA as a vibrant welcoming place, affordable for families that have been here for generations and for young people who want to take a chance on their dreams here.
That is possible, but we have to build and grow! And we can't accept so much inaction and failure and mismanagement, and excuses that try to guilt people for demanding better from the government!
Mayor Bass has had nearly four years as CEO of Los Angeles. We are living in the results of her leadership.
I respect her long career of public service, but this election has to be about results.
I'm endorsing Nithya Raman because of Fiscal Responsibility.
We need a Mayor who will be fiscally responsible and not just write blank checks to campaign donors at the expense of city services.
If you are turned off by big money buying elections, Nithya Raman is your choice.
Absolutely insane: a company created a fake poll LA mayor poll as a "short term social media experiment"
And now, instead of taking responsibility, is declining interviews, "not seeking publicity or attribution for the individuals involved"

Let's talk about LA Mayoral power in the context of homelessness.
There’s a common misconception that the Mayor has little power in LA.
Having been blocked from auditing the Mayor’s homelessness efforts and programs, I can tell you that the Mayor has ENORMOUS POWER.
🧵
By now you’ve probably seen the reports: despite hundreds of millions of dollars spent—and repeated assurances that Los Angeles had turned a corner—unsheltered homelessness increased by nearly 8% in this city. That is a moral outrage. And it is a failure of leadership.
Homelessness is not an unsolvable problem. It's a mismanaged one.
In my district, we are moving decisively in the opposite direction. While unsheltered homelessness rose citywide, the number of unsheltered people directly counted in my district fell by 49%. And that is because we took a different approach. We track every case, break through the barriers holding up placements, connect people with housing and care, and stay involved until they are housed.
As mayor, I will bring that approach—and those results—citywide.
BREAKING: the clock struck midnight and our bipartisan housing bill is now law.
Trump refused to sign it, but he couldn't stop it.
This law is GROUNDBREAKING.
It will build more housing, bring down costs, and for the first time, stop private equity from buying up homes.
@NilesGApol Women with the slightest blemish on their record are “unelectable” while men can be sexual assaulters and have people be ride or die that they have the best chances. Bellows is the strongest candidates I’ve seen as of now and I hope she’s chosen!
I'm in. The people of Maine have been building something real – a movement that deserves to go all the way to November. I've spent my entire career taking on tough fights for working people, and I'm not stopping now. I'm running for United States Senate, and together we are going to defeat Susan Collins.
The U.S. military was charged $4,361 for a half inch metal pin that costs $46.
Why? Defense contractors—with ties to private equity—are raking in excess profits.
Instead of cracking down, Trump's DoD is inviting private equity to be MORE involved in our national defense.
So @cd4losangeles called a motion to put the charter reform stuff on the November ballot she did not get a second ????
Nithya is the only good council member in city council. The rest are chumps like those that recently endorsed Karen.
