Our times demand more than posturing & promises.
They demand progress.
The @UN General Debate next week is an opportunity we cannot miss.
My message to world leaders:
Get serious, bridge divides & deliver.
Let this be a week of solutions.
I shiver as I commemorate the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica. I shiver as I see that the lessons of the past are not learnt to prevent the genocide of today, nor yo heal any wounds, past and present.
Honoured to be, today and tomorrow, at the @warmfestival in Sarajevo. 🇧🇦
🚨 URGENT: Escalation of settler terror in Umm Al Khair, West Bank
June 29th, Shimon Atia, a known settler, arrived with his flock of sheep and roamed freely through the village, ultimately trespassing into the backyard of a local resident named Salim. Shimon refused to leave, intimidated residents, and created disturbances throughout the day. He then occupied a patch of land next to a resident’s home — land that includes a toilet and a cemetery — and declared it his own. Israeli authorities enforced Shimon’s illegal land grab, stating that the Palestinian house’s backyard is “territory of the State of Israel”.
June 30th, at around 8 p.m., Shimon returned to Umm Al Khair, this time armed with a gun and a large stick. He assaulted activists and harassed the residents. When Israeli police and military forces arrived, instead of protecting the villagers, they allowed Shimon to remain on the land he had seized and forced the residents behind a fence.
Today, July 1st, Shimon came back yet again, destroying the repaired fence and trees. Footage shows that during each intrusion, he has threatened and attempted to assault residents while shouting at them. Each time, Israeli security forces have arrived but have not intervened to stop the settler’s attacks.
This incident comes amid a broader surge in settler violence across Masafer Yatta and other parts of the occupied West Bank, where communities are facing repeated home demolitions, land seizures, and assaults. Local residents and human rights groups warn that these unchecked attacks are part of a systematic effort to forcibly displace Palestinian families from their land.

In what world is this normal? How are we supposed to continue watching a people being starved and disrespected in this way day after day.
Israel’s impunity is a danger to the whole world.
“The EU is Israel’s main trading partner. It's the second largest exporter of arms to Israel. It has significant leverage, but it has chosen not to use it.”
Read in today's Daily Brief by @la_tamalisa why the EU-Israel trade agreement must be suspended: https://t.co/NlsfncBugz
I wonder whether the European Civil Protection Mechanism can be activated for people—especially children—burned alive in plastic tents, or is it just for trees.
By welcoming Israeli PM Netanyahu, wanted by the ICC to face charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity, the United States is showing contempt for international justice.
WARNING: This film contains scenes some viewers may find disturbing.
A few weeks ago Keir Starmer said he doesn’t think Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.
But we investigated and now have the evidence - this is genocide.
Watch this 2 minute video to understand how we arrived at this conclusion.

But me and my family have to carry West Bank ID cards that prohibit our freedom of movement and prevent us entering the very cities that these New Yorkers are free to settle in. Makes sense.

The world has witnessed the government of Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in occupied Gaza. Month after month, the government of Israel has treated Palestinians in Gaza as a subhuman group unworthy of human rights and dignity, demonstrating its specific intent to physically destroy them. Israel's government and state officials responsible for the crime of genocide must be held accountable. We are calling on all States to use every legal avenue to bring suspected perpetrators to justice. No one should be allowed to commit genocide and remain unpunished. https://t.co/lyfB55V7Y5
