I know these words may be unwelcomed by some, yet truth rarely arrives quietly.

This is my grandson, Jackson.

In 2018 he entered the world more than three months too soon—one hundred days premature—weighing a mere twenty-six ounces. A living miracle. He arrived with ten perfect fingers, ten perfect toes, and every intricate part a human being is meant to possess… only smaller. In every essential way he was fully, undeniably human. Eight years later he stands healthy, strong, and wholly present among us.

If this fragile infant, born a full one hundred days before his time, is already a baby… how much more sacred is the child who reaches full term?

That is why the new law in Massachusetts—removing every limit on abortion—cuts me so deeply.

Some still speak of a “clump of cells.” Yet if one inflicted upon a dog what is routinely done to that so-called clump, arrests for cruelty would follow without hesitation. Even within the womb this is a human being—one who can feel pain and who endures a death of unspeakable horror.

We have, it seems, surrendered both reason and conscience to permit such a thing in our society today. And with all the cries about following the science, it's unconscionable that we have progressed to this state

I write this not to condemn those who have faced an agonizing choice in the past. This is about the path forward—about “now what?”

It troubles me profoundly that our laws grant nine full months in which this decision may still be made.

And to you who name yourselves Christians while supporting Democratic candidates: I'm also, but the party’s clear and official stance is to enshrine unrestricted abortion access as national law, to define it as “healthcare” left solely to a woman and her physician, and to champion statutes—like the one just signed in Massachusetts—that impose no gestational boundary whatsoever. To support those candidates is to support infanticide. It is support of a cruelty we would never tolerate toward animals yet here we are with our own children.

For that, I am left bewildered by that kind of moral confusion.

Please… rise with me. Look once more with open eyes and an open heart. These smallest lives are still speaking. I pray we would finally listen.

I know I’ve been posting a lot recently, but as Fr. Richard John Neuhaus used to say, “it’s a target-rich environment” right now.

The governor of Massachusetts just signed into law a statute that permits abortion up until the moment of birth, as long as mother and doctor give the go-ahead.
Please understand what this means. A fully-formed child, moments before exiting the birth canal, can be eviscerated, chopped into pieces, have its head crushed or skin burned off—all under the full protection of Massachusetts law.

What I found particularly gross was the reaction of the entirely female crowd around the female governor of Massachusetts as she signed this barbaric provision into law. They were clapping and cackling with delight because what can only be called infanticide can now be practiced with impunity in their state.

I’m old enough to remember when Mario Cuomo, the devoutly Catholic governor of New York, admitted that, though he found abortion personally repugnant, he was, after tortured wrestling with his conscience, willing to give it limited protection of law.

How far we have fallen from agonized and conflicted Cuomo to the present governor of Massachusetts and her entourage gleefully applauding the murder of children.

"Barack Obama got on the 2008 Indiana primary ballot because Democrats in St. Joseph County submitted fraudulent petition signatures. People, including the county Democratic chair, went to jail over it. He shouldn't have been on that ballot."

Axelrod's response: "How did that get determined?"

Seat: "It was exposed two years later. Went through the courts. People went to jail. That's the problem: nobody caught it before he was already on the ballot."

In 2013, 4 Indiana Democrats were convicted for forging those signatures and copying names straight off old petitions, including one from a former governor who said he never signed it. County chair Butch Morgan went to prison for orchestrating it.
