The Akyem Kotoku Traditional Council has fined the Birim Central Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Solomon Kusi Brako, GHS2,000, a sheep, and bottles of schnapps for invoking traditional curses against the Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah.

The sanction follows the MCE’s widely publicized traditional ritual, in which he invoked curses over allegations linking him to illegal mining (galamsey). The incident sparked widespread public debate and heightened tensions between the MCE and the MP.
