Things we should protest in our food in the US (a long post):
— toxic probable carcinogen glyphosate, used on nearly half of all US corn and soybeans, but also sprayed on wheat, oats, fruits, and cotton
— inflammation-promoting, metabolism-disrupting "hateful eight" seed oils
— atrazine, an herbicide linked to birth abnormalities, reproductive cancers, muscle degeneration, and more, which has been banned in the EU due to its disastrous effects on not just health but the environment and yet is magically somehow still frequently used to treat sugar cane in the US
— high fructose corn syrup mostly from GMO corn produced in so-called “mercury cell” chlor-alkali plants
— sodium benzoate when put in the same beverage as citric/ascorbic acid is known to form the carcinogen benzene (these three ingredients are also produced at chlor-alkali plants)
— artificial color dyes derived from petroleum or crude oil (yum) linked to hyperactivity, nerve cell damage, and brain cancer which have been banned in Europe and Australia
— gut inflaming carrageenan
— Jesus, did you know that 97% of chickens processed in USDA facilities are literally bathed in chlorine?? Yes, even some organic ones in yet another food process the USDA claims is "safe" but has been banned in the EU since freaking 1997!
— bromine, also used as a fire retardant but found in brominated vegetable oil and some sports drinks and sodas, also banned in Japan and Europe due to links with neurological and reproductive issues
— rBST, a Monsanto hormone product that increases milk production in cows and which has also led to more mastitis (which then requires cows to get more antibiotics) and which has also been banned now in Europe, Japan, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand
— pork growth booster ractopamine, a hormone that has now been banned in a whopping 160 out of 196 countries, but somehow amazingly our FDA is like 'nah, it's safe in controlled amounts'
— the beautifully named "pink slime," an ammonia treated meat by-product used as a food additive in some US ground beef, is yet another lovely process banned in the EU and also Canada
— azodicarbonamide, a chemical used as a blowing agent in foamed plastics but also an allowed additive in some 500 US foods which has been banned in the EU if it is going to come into contact with food at all, as it has been found to be potentially carcinogenic when tested on mice
— BHA and BHT, both banned for use in food and beverages by the UK, EU, Japan, and other countries for potential health concerns after studies that found cancer in rats
— potassium bromate, used to make US dough rise higher, is banned in Europe, Canada, and China because it is a potential carcinogen
— olestra, a fat substitute in fat free foods reported to prevent the absorption of essential vitamins and nutrients in the intestines that has become a joke due to the cramping and diarrhea it can cause, is also banned in Europe and Canada
— farmed fish like salmon and tilapia raised in crowded fish farms prone to diseases are often treated with various antibiotics and pesticides, which accumulate in the fish first, then accumulate in the people who eat those fish second
— added nitrates break down into nitrosamines, classified as probable human carcinogens, and the EU just got done tightening rules on those even further last year under Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan (because that's a thing they actually have in Europe!)
— Oh, and at this point most of the EU, Russia, and several Latin American and Asian countries have all banned specific GMOs grown in America due to health concerns, just by the way...
This is by no means an exhaustive list, just the first ones that came to mind to make what turned out to be a not so quick post.
This is what people in America have to deal with every time they go to a grocery store — aisle upon aisle filled with shiny packages of health-destroying poisonous garbage "food".
By the way, the conglomerates that make many of these food products with ingredients and processes that are banned in Europe and other countries have somehow all managed to find ways to produce natural versions of these products for sale in those countries... SO WHY are they still choosing to sell the poisonous versions here in America??? (That last question is called a rhetorical flourish.)
This might have something to do with why Americans who travel overseas report back feeling so much better when they eat food from somewhere else that doesn't allow this health-murdering nightmare to be passed off as food!!!
Meanwhile, the FDA's "GRAS" (Generally Recognized As Safe) is basically a toothless acronym that essentially allows food corpos to make their own safety determinations for novel chemicals added to food — without even notifying the FDA!
I could go on all day guys. Much of our food — which is supposed to give us the nutrients we need to be healthy and live — is making us sick in this country.
When are we going to do something about it?

The Texas shooter violated a multiplicity of gun laws. The suggestion that more gun laws would have prevented this act of unspeakable evil is unsupported, and the implication that those who oppose such laws are somehow in favor of mass shootings is morally reprehensible.
Being MARRIED or COMMITTED to one person is a beautiful thing. Don't let these folks tell you a lie. Ain't nothing better then having a soulmate, bestfriend, lover and protector.
