One year ago, ROSALÍA released her fourth studio album, LUX, following three years of production kept completely under wraps.
The project became one of the biggest releases of her career. Within its first 24 hours, it amassed 42.3 MILLION streams on Spotify, setting the record for the most-streamed album in a single day by a Spanish-speaking female artist on the platform. In less than a month, it surpassed 500 MILLION streams.
In the United States, "LUX" debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, with 46K equivalent album units sold. The album also made history by debuting at No. 1 on five Billboard charts: Top Latin Albums, Top Latin Pop Albums, Classical Albums, Classical Crossover and World Albums. It was the first album ever to achieve this feat simultaneously.
The critical reception was equally remarkable. LUX received five-star reviews from The Guardian, Rolling Stone and The Independent. The album also earned an 8.6 score from Pitchfork and 95 points on Metacritic, with all 17 publications featured on the platform giving it positive reviews.
