It’s ironic that the “burn address” will be the most prolific collection of art to have ever existed.

The burn address claims to be inaccessible and so anything that goes in, is supposed never to come out, making the tokens symbolically unobtainable.

also ironic, is the fact that “burning” a “piece of art” is completely symbolic in nature. Users could gain the same utility by simply burning their own keys, thus locking the thing away for good.

Each piece here was selected and quite literally sacrificed for someone’s peace of mind.

It’s not a garbage can where it costs nothing to dispose of a thing. People paid the gas to move those things there, and herein lies the beauty: A completely decentralized collection of images proven to trigger emotional responses in humans.
