India’s Secretary (West) Sibi George strongly defended India’s record on press freedom and human rights during a tense press briefing, arguing that critics often misunderstand the country’s scale and diversity.
🇳🇴🇮🇳 Would @Aftenposten publish an image of the Nigerian President as a witch doctor during a state visit? The South African President as a tribal dancer? The answer is unambiguously NO and every editor in Oslo knows it.
The snake charmer exists in a specific category of racialised imagery that European liberal media has retired for every civilisation except the Indian one. That selective retirement is not press freedom. That exemption has a name. It is called racism.
Our Chinese funded journalist knew her big pay day was coming, that's why she all of a sudden activates her account after 2 full years and buys blue tick just before Modi's press briefing
In defense of Indian 🇮🇳 democracy!
During Prime Minister Narendra Modi most successful visit to Norway a minor incident happened. A Norwegian journalist demanded that the prime minister starts holding press conferences. She claimed that Indian democracy is in bad shape.
May be its time to pause? May be its time to be a bit curious to the world’s largest democracy?
Two weeks ago five Indian states and territories held elections. The turn out in the battlefield state of West Bengal was 94%. In the last local election in Norway it was 62%, in many European local elections turn out is below 50%. Can voting in massive numbers be a signal Indians trust their democratic process?
In the same election BJP won big in Assam and West Bengal. It lost even bigger in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Can this diversity be a signal that Indian democracy is reflecting the will of the people?
The journalist referred to a democracy ranking putting India at 157 in the world, behind many dictatorships and deeply troubled states. When a ranking is so obviously contrary to common sense, why not ask critical questions to those making the ranking rather than demand that leaders shall comment on nonsense? I recommend Salvatore Babones book “Dharma democracy”. The book debunks convincingly the flawed methodology of these rankings.
It was referred to a ranking claiming it’s very dangerous to be a journalist in India. Reality is that it is more dangerous to be journalist in the US and far more dangerous in the vast majority of other nations in the world.
Let’s be real. India is not perfect. Of course there are incidents. India has a population the size of North America, South America and Europe combined. But India is much more peaceful than Europe or the Americas. That’s remarkable - given the ethnic, language and religious diversity of India and the many development challenges.
Unless we consider democracy a form of government only suited for some very small, peaceful and homogeneous Western European nations, may be we should commend Indian democracy?
India is the only major former UK colony which became and has remained a democracy. Its sometimes claimed that the Brits taught India democracy. If that was the case why isn’t Myanmar or Pakistan or the Gulf kingdoms democracies??? Reality is that Indian democracy is both homegrown and extraordinary successful.
Whoa! Helle Lyng follows no other political party except Indian National Congress on Instagram. Not even any Norwegian party, the country she belongs to.
Yeh rishta kya kehlata hai? @RahulGandhi

Pakistan’s propaganda fails amid India’s tactical clarity!
Decades of terror support, contradictory statements, and disinformation campaign of Pakistan’s government leadership laid bare.
#IndiaFightsPropaganda
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri’s brilliant take down of Pak Army’s DG ISPR: Pakistani Army Spokesperson seems to take great joy that the Indian public should criticise Indian Government with regard to various issues. It may be a surprise to Pakistan to see citizens criticising their own Govt., that is the hallmark of an open and functioning democracy. Pakistan’s unfamiliarity with it shouldn’t be surprising.
In a chilling and reckless statement, Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif declared that "if India threatens Pakistan's existence, we will make sure no other country survives." Let that sink in. A senior government official in a nuclear-armed Islamic republic just threatened the entire world with annihilation.
This isn't hyperbole. It's not rhetorical flourish. It is a nuclear-armed, terror-linked state openly broadcasting that it would rather destroy civilisation than accept military defeat. This is not deterrence - it is extortion through existential threat. It is jihadist logic with a nuclear warhead.
Pakistan's nuclear arsenal was always a gamble. It was tolerated by the international community under the naive hope that Islamabad could behave like a responsible state. That delusion has now collapsed. This is a country ruled by a military junta, ideologically infected with radical Islamism, economically dependent on foreign bailouts, and strategically addicted to proxy terrorism. It has no business wielding the power to end human civilisation.
Contrast this with India - a stable, democratic, secular republic that has shown decades of restraint while Pakistan has waged proxy wars, harboured terrorists, and stoked jihad across South Asia. Yet it is India that is constantly threatened with nuclear destruction simply for defending itself.
Let's be clear: this is not a regional issue. It is a global security crisis. Pakistan is signalling that if cornered, it will not go quietly - it will take the world with it. That is not the behaviour of a rational actor. It is the death cult mentality of a regime that believes martyrdom is nobler than peace.
The West can no longer ignore this. Nuclear weapons in the hands of Islamist regimes are not defensive - they are apocalyptic. The civilised world must begin rethinking its tolerance of such arsenals. Sanctions, international pressure, and containment must now become the policy of every serious nation.
Because if this threat is allowed to go unchallenged, the next statement from Pakistan's leadership may not be a warning - it may be a launch.
"This is not deterrence - it is extortion through existential threat. It is jihadist logic with a nuclear warhead."
"May the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya bring boundless prosperity and abundance into your life."
