This morning, I had the privilege of representing @Acts101U at the @Togetheraliv Disability Rights Consortium Workshop. The session focused on uniting CSO to explore and implement better strategies for creating an inclusive and supportive environment where PWD can thrive.
#MVoice
Today through @Togetheraliv and partners, I facilitated a session on inclusive programming. With support from @CafeSRHR and @hivosrosa we also launched a Disability Rights Consortium which bringings together both mainstream organizations and those led by persons with disabilities.
This initiative aims to build a powerful movement that collectively advocate for the sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) of persons with disabilities.

Period Poverty is the inability to afford/access period products to manage a period. Without access to menstrual products, girls & women during their periods miss out on daily life. That’s why we’re producing reusable sanitary pads to #EndPeriodPoverty. #TheHildenCharitableFund
Today we at @RaisingTeensUg2 are happy to Join @IriseEastAfrica as they launch a New PPS project aimed at improving menstrual health and hygiene management in schools and communities:
The Agenda to achieve #MenstrualJustice is one that we much realize sooner than later:
#ICYMI: Last week with support from @IriseEastAfrica we conducted a Post Menstrual Health & Hygiene Day Celebration 2024 with the key stakeholders like the boys, girls, teachers, religious leaders and the community leaders.

#ICYMI: Last week, in partnership with Rise Up Together Initiative we conducted a School Health Outreach reaching out to above 122 pupils with Menstrual Hygiene & Management information & training girls including boys how to make reusable sanitary pads.
#menstruationmatters
Addressing issues of Menstrual Health and Hygiene should be considered urgent especially the need to address issues related to lack of access to adequate sanitary supplies:
It’s so disturbing to see that many young Girls are resorting to soil to manage their periods:
This is absurd:
Dear parents, we surely need realize that supporting our daughters is our responsibility:
But also the government needs to ensure that the sanitary products are tax free and affordable:
Today we joined other partners for a press conference on the urgency to improve menstrual health and hygiene for girls and young women:
Every stakeholder can do something to enable young girls to menstruate with dignity and respect:
Let’s #EndMenstrualStigma together:

Call for Action:
develop a national policy on menstrual health to tackle diverse challenges, adopt a multisectoral approach, finance the distribution of existing menstrual health materials to schools and communities, and subsidizing menstrual product costs.
