The youth of ancient Athens grew up with a pantheon that included Apollo, Aphrodite, Ares, Hera, and Zeus. We greater Boston youth had our own panoply of gods. Below: Rex Trailer, Major Mudd, Bozo the Clown, Pablo, Miss Jean, Claribel (I think),Captain Bob, and Big Brother Bob Emery. May they live forever on high!
I grew up in Iran at the height of oppression. My world was ruled by fear, censorship, and silence. @jk_rowling books showed me a universe where courage beat fear. That kind of storytelling saves minds and lives in ways people in free countries rarely understand.
What you don’t understand about these protests is this: Iranians of EVERY generation are risking it all for freedom.
Teenagers who have never known life outside the Islamic Regime.
Parents whose childhoods were violently stolen in 1979.
Grandparents who still remember the golden age of Iran before Islamofascism.
This isn’t a phase. This is a nation, rising up across generations, to reclaim itself.

BREAKING: Thousands of BRAVE Iranians are taking to the streets on the 11th day of the uprising against the Islamic Republic's terrorist regime.
The mainstream media is IGNORING this.
Make it go viral. Share it everywhere.
Iranians Across Multiple Cities Join Nationwide Protests
Despite brutal repression and direct gunfire at civilians, the movement is growing stronger by the day. The message is clear:
Iranians reject this terrorist, criminal regime.

Giving Tuesday
By R.L. Dogg
Giving Tuesday comes after Cyber-Monday,
Following fast on the heels of Black Friday,
Which jumps at us after Giving Thanks Thursday.
By the power invested in me by no one whatever,
I hereby institute No-Way Wednesday,
When you are cordially invited to buy nothing, give nothing,
Do nothing and if you feel inclined: be nothing.
We shall, collectively or one at a time, turn our faces to the wall
And say, in the immortal words of Bartleby the Scrivener,
Patron Saint of No Way Wednesday: I would prefer not to.
And we won’t!
@jasonwhitlock Tough call. Did coach feel the player was going to run into him? (Camera angle matters here.) Also it wasn't that hard a shove (as I saw it). Does the coach have a record of misbehavior? If not . . .
@wil_da_beast630 As far as I know, it was standard in itself, but not for nine minutes duration. More than two minutes was forbidden, or so I recall. I think the coroner originally said that GF died from fentanyl overdose, but changed his mind.
