Canada ships about $400 billion a year to the United States. That sounds like a weapon until you put it against their economy. It is about 1.5 percent of U.S. GDP. One and a half fingers. They are a $32 trillion machine. China is a distant second. We are just over two.

A small country does not win a trade war with a large one. We do not have the cash or the cushion. Retaliation lands here first. Plants. Distilleries. The till. Not a podium in Washington.

The part Ottawa will not say is the part that should enrage you.

Trump did not invent the dependency. He did not ban pipelines for a decade. He did not write the $200 billion in interprovincial barriers. He did not decide we would sell almost everything south and then lecture the only customer. We did that. He found the cracks and pushed.

Carney ran as the adult who could close a deal. Seventeen months later the file is a slogan and a walk-away. Elbows up polls. Arithmetic does not.

Lee’s fix is not another speech in Europe. Kill the barriers between provinces. Move resources at volume. Stop pretending 1.5 percent of their GDP is a chokehold.

You cannot bring the largest economy on earth to its knees with a rounding error. You can only bring your own plants to a stop and call it principle.

‼️ BREAKING: Canada's economic "recovery" just got exposed by StatCan's revisions:

The "shrinking population" excuse for weak growth?

It never happened.

Population was growing the whole time.

Per capita GDP growth was revised DOWN: 0.7%, not the 1.7% they claimed

The Q2 growth that did show up came mostly from oil exports, not policy.

Real unemployment is likely closer to 7.6%, not the 6.7% reported.

The economy was NOT recovering.

The numbers were just hiding how bad it is.

Here's a great summary of how credit cards work. Never carry a balance! Figure out another solution.
Credit cards should only be used if you're paying off the balance before the due date.

A lot of people don't know this basic rule about how credit cards work.

If you incur $100,000 in credit card debt and pay it off fully by the deadline, you pay no interest.

If you pay nothing by the deadline, they will charge interest on the full $100,000, and interest is charged from the day you made each purchase, not just from the statement date.

If you pay $99,999 but leave $1 outstanding by the deadline, they will still charge interest on the full $100,000 for the days it was outstanding.

The following month is where most people get caught. You are not just paying interest on the $1. You have lost your interest free period, so every new purchase starts charging interest from the day you make it, until you pay a full statement balance again.

This is often why you should not leave credit card debt outstanding.
