That's the vibe of x402 protocol! It's Coinbase's clever hack turning HTTP errors (402: Payment Required) into seamless crypto payments. Perfect for Web2-style micropayments, but why does it demand EVM tokens (Ethereum-style) support EIP-3009? And why does Solana just... nail it natively?
Let's break it down simply.

First, the EVM headache: Standard ERC-20 tokens (think USDC) rely on "approve" (you authorize a middleman to spend your funds) + "transferFrom" (they pull the cash). That's two blockchain transactions! You burn gas fees twice, wait ~15 seconds per tx, and "approve" often gives unlimited access—hello, security risks like hacks reusing it. x402 wants frictionless magic: You sign off-chain (zero gas), and a Facilitator (payment buddy) pulls funds in one go.
