Last week we asked the Guides how they wanted to help those affected by the crisis in Ukraine, and a bake sale for the @wagggsworld appeal was by far the most popular suggestion!

And the Guides asked if we could add envelopes for all our leaders - we’re not crying, you are! 💗

Last night was all about self care & self love to mark #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek 🧠💙We shared our self care ideas on lolly sticks, and everyone took home an envelope filled with lots of (non-appearance based!) compliments and positive messages!

Tonight we celebrated the Lunar New Year (a little early!) with lots of tiger related activities 🐯

One of our younger Guides, Imogen, shared her passion with us & led a fabulous session where we created origami tigers. She’s a born leader!

Lots of concentration and very nimble fingers were required for our festive craft tonight, but we think our finished Brussel sprout pom poms look fab!

For the past 2 weeks we’ve been getting stuck into @Girlguiding’s #EndPeriodPoverty challenge! We’ve explored taboos, investigated adverts, found out about different period products and, most importantly, collected donations to help those experiencing period poverty 📢 🩸

@Girlguiding @BBCCiN and of course the leaders joined in on the action too! Keeeeeep dancing!!

Last night we had great fun raising money for @Girlguiding and @BBCCiN - we created our own strictly ballgowns out of recycling, then choreographed a very energetic group dance!

£116.20 raised last night, with more donations still coming in now 🥳

Tonight we painted the tea-light holders we made a couple of weeks ago for our special candle-lit promise ceremony! 8 Guides made their promise and became fully fledged members of our unit 🥳

Last night we also filmed our submissions for @Girlguiding_NWE’s Guinness World Record attempt! Fingers crossed we smash it!! 🏅🎥

Our tea-light holders we made last night, ready for decorating in a couple of weeks’ time. We’re having a tea-light lit promise ceremony at the end of this half term! 🕯

Our last meeting before summer, and it was a hot one! ☀️

We learnt some Tai Chi, enjoyed some tasty snacks and refreshing drinks, then presented all of the badges earned over the past half term

A little bit of rain won’t stop us! This week we learnt about the promise and law and how they relate to everyday

We also looked at what the girls enjoyed in Guiding and what they wish to do on the future with the Washing Line of Pride UMA - lots of great, exciting ideas!

A couple of months ago we celebrated Earth Day & tied it in with earning our Green Blue Peter Badges!

As well as writing poems about the environment we all made our own environmental pledges to become Climate Heroes ♻️🌍💚

We also played a game of ‘football-rounders’ which went down very well! Lends itself perfectly to social distancing and makes the most of meeting outside! @Girlguiding @Girlguiding_NWE

Tonight we finished off our #Pride challenge badge by sharing what we’d learnt on a rainbow of handprints. All our leaders were totally amazed by how much our Guide already knew, how eager they were to understand more, and how respectful everyone was ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
