#clearthelist#clearthelistseveryday#DHEfamily#helpateacher Help me to clear my list! My students are 5&6 years old, so the list may look a little different than the traditional ones. I strongly believe in hands-on learning! https://t.co/SQOEmvL61Z
A6b. Now back to reality... Camp Kindergarten is not a perfect ๐ and I am not a perfect teacher. When I make a mistake I admit to it. I apologize for it. I say I'm sorry... Because one day I know my Ss with make a mistake too. #LearnFromMyMistakes#ksedchat
A6a. In a perfect ๐ if I've regulated myself before having a conversation with an S I've given myself the time and thought process to respond vs. react to the situation/behavior. Students deserve teachers who respond. Responding means learning is occurring. #ksedchat
A5: If my first intervention is to push the S onto someone else what am I saying to that S... I can't handle you? I don't have time for you? I don't want to make time for you? All of those things I would never want my Ss to think. #ksedchat
A4: Personally a mindset shift I struggle with. "What if the parent would have checked notes I send home in blue folders... then they would have known about the ___ that they were annoyed they missed." I'm a communicating in the best way for that parent? #ksedchat
A3. This is one of the things that irks me the most is when I hear teachers ask their Ss to step outside their comfort zone without hesitation... then the same is asked of Ts professional and they handle it has if it might actually make the world end. #ksedchat
A2: Recently I sat in on an interview where the interviewee said, "We can't control the cards we're dealt. We can only control how we play them." I feel like it's our job as educators to teach ALL children how to play the cards they're dealt. #ksedchat
A1. I feel like in the world of Kdg when a student is excluded it's typically because they want/crave your attention. Then when you exclude them the behavior worsens. Why not satisfy their need and squash the behavior? #ksedchat
Katelyn Rogers, Kdg! Derby Hills Elementary! Understanding, recognizing, & responding to each students individual needs academically & emotionally. #ksedchat
@EricaNunemaker1 @K_Is4Kdg @MrsSalazarKDG @mrsroesch and their students just dropped the mic on MOY assessments. Check out this proficiency movement. This is what collaboration and collective efficacy will do for students. A #proudprincipal moment. #dhefamily
@DHEPrincipal A7: I think we have to make our Ts feel like we make our Ss feel...SAFE. Safe to share, safe to grow, safe to learn, and safe to make mistakes. #ksedchat
@DHEPrincipal A6: Ss pick up on the congeniality or "fake" relationship between Ts and believe its okay to demonstrate as well. When they witness Ts having collegial conversations they begin to demonstrate them with their peers.
@DHEPrincipal A4: I think it could! Open & honest communication, where everyone has a voice, and you get to know others practices sounds like a pretty great place to exist to me! #ksedchat
@DHEPrincipal A3: Before every collaboration meeting we state our norms that we came up with as a team. Ex: Take off topic items and agree to discuss them later at a more appropriate time. If someone begins to get off topic we typically make a joke of he and agree to talk about it later.
