Millions are about to suffer because, on Friday, the FDA ended the Ozempic shortage.

Compounded GLP-1 drugs were a lifeline for regular people. Branded Ozempic or Wegovy? $1,000 a month or more. It's comically too expensive for almost anyone.

Compounding pharmacies stepped in, delivering these life-changing drugs. Now, with the shortage ‘over,’ that door’s slammed shut.

Who’s hit hardest? People 15 pounds overweight. Your coworker, your friend, maybe you. Not obese by some arbitrary chart, just normal people with a few extra pounds. When they take the drug, all their “borderline” health markers get better.

Cholesterol? Better
Blood sugar? Better
Blood pressure? Also better

They became healthier, happier, and cheaper for a strained healthcare system. Their quality of life improves. More energy, more confidence, actual results.

But insurance? It won’t cover them. Why? No ‘payback.’ A 15-pound-overweight patient isn’t sick enough for their spreadsheets. Without compounding, they’re abandoned.

This isn’t just bad policy. It’s a betrayal of America’s middle class in the middle of a metabolic health crisis. Half of our adults have prediabetes or worse. The FDA took away the best tool in our toolbox to help these people.
