@soccerbottm There are 6 football federations and anyone can host it provided their federation hasn't hosted a cup in the previous 2 cycles. CONCACAF 2026, CONMEBOL, EUROPE,AFRICA 2030. That leaves the Asian and Oceania Federation as the only eligible hosts for 2034. The Saudis want it more.

@soccerbottm The real reason is: $Audi Arabia gets to host 2034 as all the other Confederations are ineligible. Only Asia is eligible, well Oceania too but Australia nor New Zealand are begging to be hosts. This is all calculated by $FIFA$ so there is no "controversy."
