I hate the logic of INTs = Elite CB play. As long as the CB isnβt giving up explosive plays, shutting down his assignment & not givinh up TDs they should be recognized for their play
I respect this a ton and logical reasoning attached to it. Thank you @EmmanuelAcho.
I think Stingley and Surtain are the class of the NFL at CB right now. That could change but as you will see in these playoff games their impact is felt in a multitude of ways.
Kamari Lassiter is impacting the run and pass game in meaningful ways. The TD production against him is the thing that knocks it and almost cancels out the Takeaways.
Quinyon Mitchell is Elite and is incredible at limiting the explosives while also being tight in coverage while playing the backside of that Cov 6 hybrid that Vic is running. He is the reason they are able to play that way but the lack of INTs is the only knock I have with 82 targets only allowing 36 catches (Per PFF) itβs outstanding coverage but you have to bring a few home.
I also agree with Nahshon being right there on the border line. Great ball production but also gave up yards and TDs which hurts the case.
CG is awesome in coverage but need more ball production.
Ehh, what he do in the league wont matter. Mo claiborne is one of the best defensive players in LSU history & was a bust. Mansoor definitely one of the better defenders to play at LSU
His numbers/film both show that he was deserving of at the very least 2nd team. 37 tackles, 1 INT, 7 PBUs are better numbers then some 1st & 2nd team members
Started out the little elm game at safety, caught an INT on the first drive. Moved to corner due to injury & shutdown a D1 receiver (mimms) held him to 1 catch for 5 yards. Ended the game with 5 tackles (all solo) 1 INT & 2 PBUs
Starts at corner against Allen (#2 6A team) COMPLETELY shut down his side of the field & mainly #4. Basically followed him ALL game. Targeted #4 twice with no completions & 1 PBU. Ended w/ 6 tackles, 2 PBUs
He (@3dylan_ ) gave up a stop route for 5 yards against Allen (#4 wasnβt the target on the play). THATS ALL. All 3 big plays #4 had came when Dylan wasnβt covering him (go watch the film) & #4 is a GREAT receiver not taking anything from him at all!
Michael Taaffe was named a first-team All-American by @WeAreAFCA on Tuesday. It is Taaffe's first first-team selection.
Anthony Hill and Colin Simmons received second-team nods.
