@Friended4Ever@DarkMatter2525 Sure, the economy can outgrow debt costs. Tiny problem: debt is growing faster than the economy, the deficit is 5.8% of GDP, and bond yields keep rising.
Also! Paying the debt already costs $970B a year, more than the $917B spent on national defense. Congratulations!
@Friended4Ever@DarkMatter2525 Yes! But how much of the federal budget goes just to servicing debt?
$620B means that guy was born in 1976. Servicing it took 7.2% of federal spending.
When I was born in 2000: $5.7T debt and 12.5% of federal spending to service it.
Now it is $40T debt, 15.3% of spending.
@prophetsoracle@lporiginalg Every 2nd Windows release was a turd. Why are you bringing up 20 years old operating system, when all modern software and social media is going through shitification?
@_Hazardous_Wolf@KathrineTolvaj I think what you get in the end is Yemen. No gun laws. A weak government. Tribal leaders and warlords running the show. Also insane poverty, almost no infrastructure, and no rule of law. They have it all without being communists.
