They're both treated as side games focused on different characters then the core series

@WanderingManga @squirtleace Easier overall, you can choose between having lives or not, wider camera makes for less cheap deaths, 100% isn't a requirement for the ending and some other smaller stuff like being able to buy an electoon cage radar.
There is also an extra harder mode tho

@PersonthePerso2 Not really? Despite being numbered sequels the trilogy really doesn't share much in terms of story or gameplay outside some basic stuff like "A character exists", unless the goal was to make a much more direct sequel to either 2 or 3 then a general I don't think it would matter

Half of Halo 2 is about playing as the Arbiter, he even gets dibs on the opening cutscene and final level of the game, you could absolutely make a game centered around him (Hell I would say Halo 2 already is mostly)

@SockTalking They have serviceable stories, Origins has a hook of Land of the Livid Dead and suddenly drops in the Magician and tech stuff at the end
Legends is mega formulaic with the same structure repeated 5 times in a row with no real ending. At least some connective tissue would be nice
