A man restoring Notre Dame to its former glory is Carlo Blasi, a key-speaker at the Heritage Conference. Such an effort is not just an opportunity to heal the wound fire made in European heritage, but also to learn valuable lessons about its conservation.

[HERItage Conference 2020 @2020_heritage]

Notre Dame has been a Parisian landmark for centuries and the fires of April 15 of last year shocked the world. Professor of architecture Carlo Blasi is one of a few experts involved in the restoration of the monumental cathedral and a key speaker at the Heritage Conference 2020!

One cool conference package: a notebook made of recycled paper, a practical „purse“ (don't worry, looks good on men, too!), a pen.
But the coolest thing is in the little black bag: a mind teaser made of wood! If you solve it, please do brag online: post a picture and tag us!

[A NEW ROLE] With the transformation of the industry historical industrial landmarks are also undergoing a change to 'claim' a new role in society. In Rijeka, former industrial complex Bencic is transforming into a new cultural hotspot: renovation worth more than € 40 mil.

We are on the verge of a new chapter in the relations of the man and the machine… But, what lays ahead? Danica Kragić, one of the most influential researchers in this scientific filed will talk about trends, challenges and opportunities in AI, machine learning and robotics!

[HERItage Conference 2020 @2020_heritage]

On a press conference a week before the opening day of the Conference, Rector of University of Rijeka Snježana Prijić Samaržija said that HERItage Conference is the central scientific and academic event of the Croatian presidency of the Council of the European Union!

What does the future hold when it comes to AI and machine learning? If anybody knows the answer to that question, it's Danica Kragić, leading authority in the area of robotics, computer vision, and machine learning! And a key speaker at the HERItage Conference!

The International Carnival Parade is the main event of the Rijeka Carnival, one of the biggest carnival events in Europe!
It's a part of Rijeka's cultural heritage with a long tradition: a document from 1449 prohibits wearing a mask, except for the guests of the masked ball!

[HERItage Conference 2020 @2020_heritage]

Carlo Blasi, a key speaker at the Heritage Conference, is a part of the team of experts who are working on the reconstruction of the Notre Dame church in Paris. We're looking forward to hearing more about this monumental effort!

[WHEN HISTORY MEETS THE FUTURE] One of the main themes of the Conference is "new technologies for future jobs".

So, how does it look when our industrial and sports heritage meets the future of engineering? Pretty spectacular, we dare say! #racetrack

One of the three thematic pillars of the Heritage conference is the role of scientific research in strengthening the preservation of industrial heritage.
A good example? Sugar Refinery Palace in Rijeka, soon to be transformed into the City Museum of Rijeka!

The Heritage Conference aims to create a framework for reflecting upon contemporary challenges and opportunities for Social studies and Humanities. One of the challenges will be to minimize the difference and closing the research and innovation divide across the EU!
