This evening, Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu @EngrKaleKawu, our Governorship Candidate in the 2027 election, alongside our candidates for the Senate and House of Representatives, paid me a visit after receiving their Certificates of Return from the PDP National Headquarters and their INEC nomination documents.
I congratulated them on this important milestone and reminded them that leadership begins long before elections are won. It begins with a deep sense of responsibility to the people whose trust they seek.
The documents they carry are more than certificates of candidacy. They represent the hopes, and expectations of countless Kwarans who desire a better future for themselves and their children.
I urged them to carry this mandate with humility, integrity, and a clear understanding of the weight of public office.
May they remain guided by that truth in the months ahead, and may the Almighty grant them victory.
I once dropped tweets about Kwara APC crisis but the online band!ts ran to my TL saying “Na lie , Na Lie”. Hope you have all seen “Na true, Na true”?
Abuja is the battle field..
I admire Prof Amana for his oratory prowess, but I disagree with him on this. The same system that had Prof @HonAliAhmad, Prof. Issa Gana and others but made you DG NILS should not be the system we should not return to. DG NILS is what made him important in society today. There are many former ministers nobody talks about anymore, and many professors in Kwara who retired straight to the library. Stop insulting the system God used to make you important in Kwara and infact, as at the time you were made the DG, you had no job. Stop insulting the system !
If you were at the Ilorin Central Mosque or listened to the Friday sermon today, you will agree with me that Imam Oloka is completely exceptional when it comes to Khutbah interpretation!
The way he seamlessly interpreted Imam Bashir’s Khutbah today added so much spiritual weight and clarity to the message. Ilorin is blessed with elite scholars, wallahi.
May Almighty Allah bless all of our scholars and keep fortifying the Ilorin Emirate with such deep knowledge. 🤲🏾

PDP Gubernatorial Candidate
Thank you to His Excellency, Ambassador Paulo Martins Santos, and his team for a memorable evening marking Portugal’s National Day and 25 years of the Embassy in Abuja.
A friendship in good hands, and a good reason to celebrate. Parabéns to Portugal and to the Portuguese community here in Nigeria.
When people ask me why I still believe in sports as a pathway for youth development, stories like this are part of my answer.
Somebody sent me the Zadok Yohanna story this morning and honestly, I had to read it twice.
Born in Bauchi. Moved to Kaduna on his own as a young boy to chase a football dream. Flew to Sweden less than a year ago. And today, at just 18 years old, Brighton have reportedly signed him for £21.5 million, beating some of the biggest clubs in world football to secure his signature.
Think about that for a moment.
A teenager from northern Nigeria, armed with little more than talent, discipline and determination, has forced his way into one of the most competitive talent markets on earth.
This is why I will always believe in investing in young people. Not because every child will become a professional footballer, but because talent exists everywhere in this country. What is often missing is opportunity, structure, support and belief.
My vision in establishing the Kwara Football Academy and @ABSIlorinFC was rooted in this same belief, and it has given opportunities to players like Dennis Emmanuel Bonaventure, Olusegun Oakunle, Benjamin Frederick, Mubarak Gata, David Okoromi and a host of others now plying their trade in both local and international clubs.
Nigerians are an extraordinarily talented people. That has never been in question. What stories like Zadok’s remind us is what can happen when talent meets opportunity.
I encourage the Nigeria Football Federation @thenff, the National Sports Commission @NatSportsComm, and the National Institute for Sports, to look into creating the enabling environment for more football academies aimed at discovering more talents like Zadok Yohanna, as the global searchlight beams on Nigeria as the football destination for Africa.
To every young person chasing a dream that seems impossible today: keep going. Your current circumstances do not have to define your future.
And to Zadok: Congratulations! The whole world can now see your talent, but this is only the beginning. Keep working, stay grounded, and never forget the journey that brought you here. As you said yourself, “I know where I came from.” Hold on to that mindset.
Mr Ladi Hassan messed himself up. He Got 48hrs of fame to end the relationship he built for over two decades. He violated the consensus agreement and the Court of Appeal ruled yesterday to finally nail the coffin of the Turaki- led group that he aligned himself with. According to the Court of Appeal “The Court of Appeal held that the appeal was academic and raised no live issue.”. This is what we call a sad end for Mr Ladi.
@bukolasaraki held Mr Ladi Hassan high because of their long time relationship and Ladi Burnt the relationship of decades in 48hrs.
My darling wife, @ToyinSaraki, and I are delighted to be hosting the Ileya Hangout at our residence here in Ilorin today.
To the multitude of well-wishers, friends, and good people of Kwara streaming in to celebrate Eid with us — thank you!
Today in Abuja, I observed Jummat prayers with some of our Kwarans, including three of our Kwara PDP gubernatorial aspirants — Engr. Kale Kawu, Prof. Ali Ahmad, and Alhaji Omar Bolaji Gambari. Afterwards, we had lunch at my home and enjoyed a pleasant afternoon together.
Day 2 of hosting Kwara PDP leaders, stakeholders, gubernatorial and National Assembly aspirants at my home. Today’s meeting is a continuation of the bonding and unity needed to ensure we move forward as one cohesive team.
Ordinarily, my attitude to this insidious move by the incumbent Governor of Kwara State to initiate a case of criminal liability against me in the unfortunate incident of armed robbery which happened in Offa community eight years ago should be to shrug it off and say that we will meet in court since I know I have nothing to do with the incident or any other crime for that matter.
However, I have been inundated with calls from many well-meaning Nigerians who were surprised by this turn of events. Thus, for the benefit of the general public, let me categorically state that I have nothing to do directly or indirectly with any case of armed robbery or any criminal matter, whatsoever. The Offa robbery incident was designed under the Buhari administration with the connivance of some individuals from Kwara State as an instrument of blackmail to seize political power from our group in 2019.
The case was investigated by the police team from the office of the Inspector General of Police. However, following the investigation, in two separate legal advices dated June 22nd, 2018, and August 23rd, 2018, the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) in the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) stated that there was no evidence directly or indirectly linking me to the robbery incident.
The DPP in his first legal advice stated that “For the Senate President and the Kwara State Governor, this office is unable to establish from the evidence in the interim report a nexus between the alleged offence and the suspects”. In a second report, the DPP stated that “With regards to the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, since there is no departure from the earlier findings in the interim report, this office is still unable to establish any prima facie case against him for any offences of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and culpable homicide”.
Based on the DPP’s advice, four suspects were charged in court by the Kwara State Government. They were convicted at the trial court and the conviction was upheld by the appellate court. The matter is now before the Supreme Court.
Suddenly, the governor woke up after I granted my interview to Channels TV where I commented on the insecurity in the state and thought he could resurrect these baseless charges against his two predecessors. I noticed that in his propaganda plan to circulate his frivolous charges and other skewed documents as paid advertisements in the national newspapers, even before serving the defendants, he intentionally hid the DPP reports and other documents which put a lie to the charade he is perpetuating. These are deliberate efforts to mislead the media and induce them to give purchased publicity to the frame-up.
Therefore, I am under no illusion that this case was a frivolous move and an abuse of court process to embarrass my person. My legal team will definitely meet this governor in court. I believe that Abdulrahman just feels that he could still use this case to harass and defame my person by abusing the judicial process. He had tried to induce the families of the victims to initiate civil litigations against the other respondents and me, but he seemed not to be making progress with that mischievous effort because the families backed out.
I need to remind him that this vicious attack on my reputation because he enjoys the immunity of a governor is a huge joke on him. A sitting governor who is accusing his two immediate predecessors of armed robbery is only making a mockery of the institution. He is only taking the governorship of our dear state to the gutter. This is an example of dirty politics taken too far and too low. He ought to know that nobody at the national or state level is buying his claim. He is the butt of a crude joke. Many of those involved in the plot to blackmail me with the Offa robbery case have since faced the judgments of the law of karma. I do not doubt that this governor will end up the same way.
My dear brother Aliko,
I have known you for many years, and in that time I have seen the discipline, patience, resilience, and refusal to settle for less that has cemented your place as the most consequential entrepreneur to emerge from our continent.
You have turned personal success into a collective asset. You have proven that the real value of building an empire isn’t the wealth it creates, but the way it expands what is possible for others.
As you celebrate your birthday today, my family and I pray that Allah (SWT) grants you continued good health, strength for the years ahead, and the fulfilment of seeing the lasting difference your work continues to make in our nation and across the continent.
Happy Birthday, @AlikoDangote.
