Demi Levato had Kerry Washington emotional opening about her decade long struggle with eating disorders and how terrifying recovery was in the beginning, recalling the exact moment she broke down in tears just walking into a grocery store because the sight of food was so overwhelming.
Demi then reflects on her body image and overcoming the fear of being judged for her body weight after gaining weight before her recent tour, revealing how terrified she was that people online and in the crowd would criticize her body.
“The first time I went step foot into a grocery store in treatment I broke down in tears because the sight of so much food was so overwhelming and so debilitating that I had a panic attack. I can go from that to stepping foot into a kitchen knowing my way around and cooking a meal now sometimes without a recipe, and that to me is like one of the biggest accomplishments in my life personally”
“I live in a place of acceptance now where I don't look in the mirror and berate myself for having curves. I went on stage anyways. No one turned around, no one got up out of their seats and said 'She's not a size zero.' They still loved me and cried tears of joy. My worth isn't in my body, my husband doesn't love me because of my body, my family doesn't love me because of my body. I'm beautiful as I am”
Erykah Badu joins The Shop to talk about her new music, she compares her older music to Tupperware company.
“Tupperware made material so well that they didn’t have return customers, so eventually Tupperware went out of business…Even though they made smaller containers and different products, people didn’t need them because the original material was so good.”

One of my fave things is when someone uses their confidence to disarm people rather than intimidate them. It’s such a beautiful characteristic to posses.
