Saying Jalen Hurts was a shell of himself last year, without any context is so stupid.

The OC was horrendous, the OL was so injured 3/5 barely could move, AJ quit on the team, Saquon was pressing.

Everybody were a shell of themselves in that situation.

This is an odd stance to take, in my opinion.

I understand that the media is supposed to be unbiased and strictly report the facts.

But I also believe that there’s a middle ground where they can celebrate a player when they achieve a milestone or accomplish something, both on or off the field.

In a sports media world (and world, in general) that’s incredibly divisive right now, I thought it was refreshing to hear Jalen Carter let down his guard a little bit and thank the media.

Maybe I’m in the minority and that’s why I may be considered an independent journalist that may not be able to receive media credentials.

But if that’s the result of being able to be happy for a player when they deserve it or to be critical of a player when they deserve it, so be it.

Breaking: Eagles are signing two-time Pro-Bowl selection Jalen Carter to a four-year, $152 million extension worth up to $160 million, including $106 million guaranteed that now makes him the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history, per his agents Drew and Jason Rosenhaus.

Only two QBs have scored more total touchdowns than Jalen Hurts has since he became a full-time starting QB in 2021:

- Josh Allen
- Patrick Mahomes

That’s it! That’s the entire list.

Since 2021, Hurts has 59 total turnovers. Which is nine less than Mahomes and 21 less than Allen.

But go ahead and continue with the nonsensical Trent Dilfer comparison, if you’d like to.
