#marklee : I visited Kenya earlier this year and at that time I was going through a very important time of my life. I had to make a very important decision for my career and for my life so I had a lot of people telling me a lot of advice, asking me question I don’t really know—
okay.
i’m very sorry some have religious trauma. sincerely, i am really sorry about that. but please do not project it onto mark. it does not help. if you choose not to embrace his visions and the concepts he chooses, and decide from there that you don’t want to listen to his music or see his future works- of course that’s your own personal choice. but please don’t make posts mocking his faith and beliefs or say he’s being “brainwashed in a religious cult” or smth. please don’t project onto him. you wouldn’t need to be a long-term fan to know religion has always been important to mark from day 1, from even before the firstfruit. if that makes you uncomfortable, choosing to quietly leave is so much healthier than projecting on mark or hoping he changes his beliefs and how important his religion is to him. whether it’s religious trauma or just general discomfort of seeing religious themes being openly used as a form of expression in creative works, i promise that mocking or projecting onto mark will not heal or change any of that.
UPRM LABEL appears to reference Mark 14:13–15, which mentions a “large upper room, furnished and ready.”
In the biblical context, the Upper Room is not only a prepared place, but also a gathering place before a new chapter begins.
