@21540M Ultimately it depends on the issue. Both groups have the potential to make meaningful change, and I hope we will see cooperation across these lines (particularly those that care about the next generation and understand what’s at stake if we continue on business as usual).

@21540M …extreme weather events, etc. As a result, they are creating public awareness through movements and events led by youth. Also, because young people are generally more tech-savvy, the likelihood is higher that they will embrace tech as a means to create awareness/make change. 2/2

@21540M Good vs evil definitely makes things more appealing for people (process of simplification), but I think ultimately being able to show that something is wrong/wasteful/inefficient (doesn’t have to be evil per se) could win hearts and minds.

@21540M Also, Ed Herman and Noam Chomsky’s Manufacturing Consent was pivotal for me and influenced my perception of media and ignited a spirit of broader activism. Other books helped along the way of course. 🙂

@21540M As a young adult (early undergrad years): The Kite Runner and A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier. Both books had a major impact on me in the way I thought about community, culture, class consciousness, war – and it’s effects on children and families. 1/2
