🚨BREAKING: Boston Mayor Michelle Wu’s Office of LGBTQ+ Advancement is holding a “Trans Period Pride” event to discuss menstrual equity and the experiences of transgender menstruators.

Boston’s Mayor’s Office of LGBTQIA2S+ Advancement is set to hold a “Trans Period Pride” event focused on menstrual equity and the experiences of transgender menstruators.

The event, promoted in coordination with community groups, is scheduled for discussion at the Boston Public Library and highlights “transgender experiences with menstruation.”

This comes as the office received nearly $1 million in taxpayer funding this fiscal year.

Here’s the story that led up to police entering this new mom's maternity room… just THREE days after giving birth, and a NICU doctor reporting her to DCF for medical neglect.

Her baby had bloodwork done for jaundice. Later that day the NICU doctor told her they were releasing her but wanted to keep the baby for light therapy. She asked for the records so she could get her pediatrician’s opinion. The NICU doctor pushed hard, insisting that without the light therapy her son would suffer brain injury.

Her pediatrician reviewed the labs (bilirubin at 13 — normally no light therapy needed at that age and level) and signed the release for the baby to be released into her care, which also took the hospital off the hook for liability.

My heart was racing the whole time — no new mom should ever feel this kind of pressure.

I struggled w/ depression & was on several meds by doctors…
I knew they would report me to CPS. I had a son that was 3 and diagnosed with ASD. Instead of losing my baby I placed her with adoptive parents.
They never honored open adoption.

@end3of6days9 There are new laws under CAPTA and Plans of Safe Care… this gives the hospitals the “right” to call Childline for almost any reason. I have been fighting against this policy since 2019!
I am SO SORRY you are going through this!!
