+ TRUE SUMMER BREAK
Reduced reliance on summer as preparation phase.
Allows opportunity for high-impact educational experiences in summer i.e. internships, study abroad, etc.
FACT- The catastrophic injury report from the NCAA WILL change NCAA Women's Soccer. The old proposal termed "Plan G" of adding 2 weeks to the season is now out of date because of the changes coming from the NCAA. We will either be ahead of this with the 21st Century Model or not!
B-A-L-A-N-C-E! Imagine a world were there is VERY few missed class time, more development in the week of training and less impact from injuries! #GetOnBoard
Green is season 20hr CARA, red is OFF, Orange is 8hr CARA (but off Exam week), May is NCAA tournament for 64 teams, White is Summer break (3 months) = Balance!!
Seeing some college coaches commenting on D1 List Serve email chain about issues...PLEASE read/review the information in this link. It answers so many of the questions posed. EVERY D1 college coach (Women & Men) should read this!!!! https://t.co/V3zRsyoqYY
Another issue is the NCAA sport science study released. Calling for 48 minimum between games, 7 days of acclimation after break, etc. not enough weeks in fall model. We WILL lose games if we don’t change. Men’s 2 semester model solves this!
Coach you inspired us to start this twitter so that people involved with women's college soccer can get the FACTS! We want to choose how we evolve before the NCAA tells us how we have to. #ChangeIsComing
Sent an email out today to women’s coaches regarding the men’s two semester model. Coaches from 12 conferences so far have replied. Out of 12, 11....let that sink in..11 have not had a meaningful discussion on this model. Most haven’t even looked at it!! #SeriouslyCoaches
Spreading FACTS...this model isn't more days than D1 already plays. The spring is the SAME time as the old model spring season. Compare...tell us what you think! #NoBrainer
