A fiery speech by South Africa's🇿🇦 EFF leader Julius Malema, over xenophobic attacks targeting foreign nationals.
“You say Zimbabweans take your jobs. Nigerians take your jobs.
You march, close shops and beat up people. Tell us after doing that how many jobs have you created, by beating up these Nigerians, Zimbabweans and Ghanaians?
You beat people because they took your jobs.
You close a shop that hires people. How many have you created after beating and chasing them?
Unskilled men, with no skills, none whatsoever, say somebody took away their jobs. I don't want your votes if you behave like that. Take them away.
Pushing out of school an African child that looks like you, I will never do that. You can take your votes. Make me die with my conscience very clearly.
I will never refuse a pregnant woman of African descent to give birth in the clinics of South Africa. Never!”
The DA ministers inherited the ANC 's 32 year mess and are expecting to fix it within a year?
I know that the DA is effective and efficient but come on. Give it another year, uzobona..
Brilliant. The hypocrisy and sophistry is astounding. 73 000 civilians, including childrenj murdered - a war crime - and not a single word of condemnation. An ICC fugitive and no demands for his arrest. Unconscionable.
The DA has never “waited” for any international court to rule before condemnation. Ever. No court has ruled against Iran. No court has ruled against Putin. No court has ruled against Xi. And yet they are regularly condemned, and correctly so, when gross human rights abuses are revealed.
What this reveals is quite stomach-churning. You are willing to compromise your principles if the price is right. You are willing to turn a blind eye - even to a genocide - if your palms are greased. There is no moral high ground on foreign policy you can ever claim again. You can be bought by rogue nations, just like you have accused the ANC of being. At least it is honest about where it stands. Stand on business.
Never let your hate for Julius Malema make you ignore the fact that Afriforum, Ernst Roets and Solidaritiet have been committing treason that has resulted in real world harm. They are Scott free and nothing is happening to them. Phil Craig, a British national calling for the coup d’etat of the president and the balkanisation of South Africa still roams the streets of Cape Town.
I still don’t understand how that Phil Craig can go onto podcasts, talk about turning the Western Cape into Israel 2.0 and not get arrested for treason.
The next national elections are big and are make or break for South Africa, so let’s understand a few things.
In the last national election, around 16 million votes were cast, that was the lowest voter turnout in democrat S.A history.
Of those votes:
• 6.4 million went to the ANC-40%, their lowest since the "new" South Africa, a 17% decline.
• 3.5 million went to the DA, up around 1 percent from the previous election.
• 2.3 million went to the MK Party, the wildcard no one saw, fresh out the box.
• 1.5 million went to the EFF, showing
little to no growth or loss from the previous election. Now, what does this mean if the ANC loses?
The ANC would have to lose 3 million voters by 2029, and the DA would have to remain where they are or grow slightly. In that case, the same or a similar GNU would exist, only with the DA at its helm.
If we don’t want the DA to win, that would mean we either vote for the MK in large numbers or the EFF in even larger numbers.
The other option, which is far more difficult, is bringing up a party that has less than 1 million votes and concentrating our numbers there.
For example, ActionSA received 192,000 votes, very far from the lowest of the top four. At least 3.5 million of us would have to vote for them to make them a viable option as the main opposition.
Our Majority means nothing if we don’t actually turn up to elections. Our majority means even less if we continue to divide our vote, we have to pick our poison as black people and concentrate our numbers towards that party if we don’t want the DA winning.
They keep framing it like the millions rural South Africans are offline because there’s no internet signal.
The real problem is poverty. You don’t fix an affordability crisis with a premium USD subscription model. No one in the rural areas will afford Starlink.
