I am pleased to note that the hippo translocation exercise we recently initiated at Mukindu Dam in Rurii Ward, Ol Kalou, has been successfully concluded.
For the local community, this brings immediate relief by safeguarding lives and securing livelihoods. Farmers and families can now tend to their land and access water sources without the constant threat of human-wildlife conflict, restoring peace of mind to the surrounding communities.
The Government, through the @Min_TourismKE remains firmly committed to enhance Human-Wildlife coexistence across all regions. By prioritizing both community safety and wildlife conservation, we ensure that local livelihoods are protected while maintaining the delicate balance of our ecosystem.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the technical teams led by @KWSKenya , local leaders, and the community for their unwavering support and patience throughout this exercise.
