Hi! It's been 50 years since I last updated. I'm already 75 years old. I still remember going on the voyages to Kanata. Such wonderful times... Anyways I heard that they are interested in those lands again and seems like Jacques Cartier's exploration will prove helpful.#glad

It seems like his explorations and discovery of Kanata and the Gulf of St. Lawrence will really help them with colonizing. It's such a shame that Sir Cartier is not here to witness how his explorations are helping France right now. Will forever proud of his achievements🇫🇷🇫🇷

It's been a long time. I heard that Sir Roberval has returned empty-handed without being able to colonize Kanata. I also heard that the king is no longer interested in Kanata as this voyage proved unsuccessful... Even though Kanata had so many resources and land.

We finally got back to Saint-Malo! Also I just found out that Sir Cartier wanted to so eagerly go back was because he thought he found golds and diamonds but they weren't. #sadness

We just met Sir Roberval at the port of St. John's and he ordered us to go back... No way am I doing it!!! I'm not going back there just to die! So at night our ship headed back to France.#successfulescape

URGENT UPDATE: Danger! The natives are attacking us and keeping us in a state of siege. The already killed 35 of our men! I hope Sir Cartier makes a decision!I don't want to die!😨

When we returned the Iroquois were starting to distrust us more and even the chieftain of Achelacy cut off his friendship with us. I wonder what is happening? That doesn't matter we should be preparing to defend ourselves.#tension #hostility

7th of September 1541: Sir Cartier decided to go meet the people in Hochelaga. He also bought two boys and entrusted them to the Achelacy to learn their language. He also went to examine the rapids so that the following spring he would be able to clear it.

Although we avoided being hostile with them soon enough our relationship with the indigenous people started to crumble. So we decided to leave Saint-Croix and camp at the mouth of the Rivière du Cap-Rouge. #prayfothebest

23rd of August 1541: We arrived at Stadacona and were welcomed! I'm not entirely pleased that Sir cartier lied to the Iroquois and told them that only chief Donnacona died while the rest were living happily... but nonetheless we were able to avoid being hostile with them.

Also I probably didn't tell you but all the kidnapped natives last time died on the voyage except one young girl. I hope this doesn't sour our relationship with the Iroquois. #hope

23rd of May 1541: We finally left on our third voyage as Sir Roberval was still not ready so he gave Sir Cartier the authority. This time there are 5 ships including the Grande Hermine and Émérillon. There were 1500 men this time!

15th of January 1541: Everything changed😢I'm so upset because the king has made Sir Cartier Roberval's subaltern😡 How could he?! Sir Cartier came back with such good accomplishments he should be in a higher position! #mad

It's 17th of October 1540 and the king gave Sir cartier a commision for the third voyage!!!🥳

Sir Cartier went straight to report to King Francis I and he seemed very pleased with the results. I hope we go on another voyage to Kanata again as it has so many new things but I don't think we will be able to anytime soon... a war broke out.. Hope it ends soon😢🙏

This second was more successful than the first. We got to know much more about the geography of the land and its resources, made alliances with the natives there, came back with Donnacona who claims to know about the riches in the lands, and he also came back with gold.#success
